He raised his brows, rolling his hand.Get to it, Major.
“As I’m sure you’ve already guessed, Ren and I have been sleeping together.”
“Not much to guess about when I found you barely wearing a robe, anxious for him to visit.”
I shot him the finger, and he blew me a kiss.
Tapping the table, he asked, “How did it happen?”
Avoiding eye contact, I gave him the top-sheet notes about what happened the day of the Meeting House grand opening, and then how we’d started hooking up a couple of months later.
“So, yeah. That’s it,” I concluded, taking a swipe of the whipped cream.
Sawyer remained quiet until I met his assessing eyes.
“What?” I asked.
“Major, do you think I would judge you about any of that?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. Half the time I’m judging myself.”
“Why?”
I rolled my eyes as though it were self-evident, but he gestured for me to answer the question.
“Mr. Paige. Holden. Hell, Hikaru, at this point. I feel guilty for wanting Ren as much as I do.”
“Well, I don’t think you need to. I am a little worried that you seem unhappy, though. What’s that about?”
I thought about deflecting, but I’d gotten this far… “You know how I have my roster, right?”
He nodded. “Sure.”
“I set it aside. Haven’t seen any of them since Ren and I started fucking on the regular.”
“So the first time was more of a one-and-done, pretty much like any other hookup?”
“That was the plan.”
“And now?”
“I asked him if he wanted to ditch the condoms.”
“Oh.” Sawyer’s subtle grimace told me everything I needed to know about his opinion on the subject.
“Exactly.”
“And what was his response?”
“He said he didn’t think he could do that with anyone but Mr. Paige.”
“How’d that make you feel?”
I rubbed my chest. “Not gonna lie, it hurt. Like he needed to remind me that we were in an unofficial nonmonogamous nonrelationship.”
“Is he sleeping with other people?”
I swiped another fingerful of cream.
