I snuggle in a little closer.
“Never.”

JUNIOR
It’s Monday morning, and I’m still recovering from this weekend. Sparrow and Warwick were right: talking about things—actual communication—made what we did in the bedroom so much better.
We even tried a few things we hadn’t planned on, which were pretty great. Tanner busted out his prostate stimulator while going down on me, and…yeah. I came so hard that he nearly choked on my cum.
Anyway, the coffee is finally doing its job as I make my way over to the stallion barn. I smile when I catch Sam walking out just as I’m walking in.
“Hey, Sam. Good morning.”
His cheeks go pink, and he smiles big. “Hey, Junior. Itisa good morning, isn’t it?”
I tilt my head, watching him walk back to the main house with a bit of a skip in his step.
Heh. I know what that means.
Just as I let myself into the barn, Trip comes out of the tack room, hair a mess, lips red and swollen, fastening his belt buckle.
He’s still setting himself to rights when he looks up, startling when he finally clocks me. Chuckling, he shakes his head. “When you’re a parent, you’ll understand.”
I lift my hands. “Your husband is one of the hottest men I’ve ever met in real life. I understand right now.”
Trip cracks up and heads back into the tack room, grabbing Tiberius’ gear. He normally lets me get my own gear, so I assume he’s sparing me the aftermath.
“So…how are things with you and Tanner going?” he asks as I get the saddle in place.
I stand back and make another adjustment. “It’s new, but it’s going better than I’d have imagined. Like, maybe it’s fast to say this, but I think he might be it for me.”
Trip shrugs. “The heart doesn’t have a timeline. I was friends with Sam for a few months, and then suddenly, bang. I’m sure it wasn’t actually out of nowhere, but it damn near felt like it.”
“Bang is right,” I laugh. “I’ve just never been able to talk to somebody the way I talk to him. Never been as open with someone else. I swear, I hear older couples talk about communication all the time, but I think they’ve been holding out.”
“In what way?”
Trip’s grin is encouraging and a little too knowing all at once.
“Communication is sexy as fuck. Like, it’s one thing to be able to read a person.”
He nods. “True.”
“But I think maybe everyone has this secret inner world, and when they trust you enough to let you in on that? Game changer.”
“Life changer, even,” Trip says, patting me on the shoulder.
We finish getting our horses ready and ride out to the middle paddock. Before we start to move the cattle, Trip calls me over.
“So, I hear Tanner is doing a great job on the Christmas Cleanup.”
I nod, proud.
“Not going to say I told you so, but…”
I laugh. “It’s okay. You can say it.”
