Chapter 20
Kofi
KOFI WAS SEXINESS PERSONIFIED. If I knew how to whistle, as he walked toward me, I would have done exactly that. Not that he would have heard me, since the car windows were rolled up.
Today he wore a white, pin-striped shirt turned back to his elbows. Wearing jeans and loafers and looking businesslike carrying his laptop bag, Kofi was a head turner. He passed a woman at the door, who turned to get a second look at him. I couldn't help smirking over the thought that he belonged to me.
I unlocked the car and when he sat next to me, I wore a big grin.
"Somebody's in a good mood," he said.
"Yep, today is a great day."
He chuckled while stretching to put his laptop bag in the back of the car. "I'm happy you're happy."
When he sat properly in the seat, I crooked my finger at him. "C'mere."
He smiled a little at a time as he leaned toward me. He touched my nose with his and whispered, "Yes, what can I do for you?"
I kissed him softly, then pulled back wearing a bright smile. "Thank you."
His sweet smile greeted me again. "What are you thanking me for?"
"For everything."
Now, he chuckled. "I suppose you're going to tell me more soon."
"Definitely."
I pulled away from the sidewalk humming to the party music on the radio.
"I'm taking you out tonight," he said.
"Oh yeah? Where are we going?"
"I have two tickets to a play. Kemar gave them to me."
