My face went hot and I laid my cheek on Kofi's chest. We remained like that while I inhaled him. He always smelled good and now, thanks to our lovemaking, he carried a slight musky scent I didn't mind.

If he allowed me, I would have stayed like that all day—me enjoying his body and him stroking my hair. Now that we'd been intimate with each other, I was thinking about Kofi in a way I hadn't allowed myself to do before this morning.

He was patient and sensitive to my needs, which made me think more of him. I wondered if he noticed anything out of place last night, but he hadn't said anything so I'd take things as they came. He yawned again, and I rolled off him and sat up. "Go have your shower, then we'll have breakfast."

"What are we doing today?" he asked when he stood beside the bed, rubbing his stomach.

My eyes were drawn to the muscles in his arms and chest and the line of hair that led to ...

" ... and maybe we can climb the Blue Mountains after breakfast," he said.

"Huh?"

Kofi was laughing when my gaze met his.

"You caught me," I said, "but it's your fault. I never would have guessed what you were hiding under those tank tops and sweat bottoms."

Still smiling, he said, "I aim to please. Anyway, you haven't answered my question. What d'you have planned for us today?"

"I didn't have anything specific. I just tagged along with you for the ride, remember? What did you plan to do before that?"

"I would have been working if I was alone."

A satisfying thought came to mind. "What if I wanted to spend the day with you doing nothing?"

"I'm open to that. One thing about being with you is that there are never any boring moments."

"Mmm. I have an idea, but let's eat first."

He nodded and moved to the closet before walking into the bathroom.

When I heard the shower running, I turned on my cell phone and dialed Garth's number via WhatsApp.

"Gina? What's up?"

"Nothing much." I adjusted my position on the mattress. "I just needed to talk to you."

"Did something happen?"

The anxiety in his voice made me rush to answer. "No, I'm on the island, but—"

"When did you get in? Is Chase with you?"

"I flew in yesterday and Chase had some meetings he couldn't reschedule."

"How long are you staying?"

"Three weeks."

"Where are you?" Now, his tone was perplexed. "Mom and Dad didn't mention anything about you coming."

A tiny sigh passed my lips. "Because they don't know."

"Really? Why wouldn't you tell your parents you're coming home to visit?"

Shifting a little, I said, "It's complicated."

"Gina, everything with you is complicated. You have to be more specific."
