"What?" That stumped me and I waited for what was coming next.
"That's Jamaican lingo. I mean men whose armpits reek."
Her comment had me laughing. "It's good to know I don't fit in that category."
Gina wrinkled her nose, then chuckled. "I wouldn't allow you near me if you did."
"Now that we understand each other ... "
Her smile faded as she looked at me. "What are you doing here today?"
"I had a meeting with Jerry and decided to work out. What about you?"
"After last night I figured I needed to stop in."
When I didn't say anything, she laughed. "I'm kidding. Chase had to be in the area, so I came with him."
"What are you doing later?" I asked, raising my voice to be heard over the clanging of the weights and other people conversing.
"Work, maybe."
My comment slipped out without me planning the words. "I can offer you something more fun and entertaining."
"Like what?"
Her fingers moved in mine and that's when I realized our hands were still joined. Stepping back, I released her. "Why don't I pick you up later and you'll find out."
Her eyes sparkled and she laughed. "If it's anything like last night, I'm game."
I knew the second she remembered our kiss because her eyes went out of focus and her tongue swiped her lip. "I didn't mean—"
"I know you didn't." I gripped her upper arms and let my smile widen. "I'm on the way out, but there's something I want to ask you. I'll pick you up at 7:00 o' clock, okay?"
She nodded as a smile tugged at one side of her lips. I hoped that given her willingness to go out with me so soon again, I'd have an easy time convincing her to do what I wanted.
