"No, it doesn't."

She looked at me sideways, then let out a muffled sound that amused me. Gina was exasperated with my concise answers.

"Have I offended you?" I asked.

"No, that's hard to do. I grew up tagging along with my two brothers all the time and they didn't always want me around." She laughed as the hair blew around her face. "I just found out something about you."

"What?" My gaze shifted from the road to meet hers.

"You're secretive."

My smile was involuntary. Gina wasn’t as scatterbrained as she seemed. "I am not."

"Yes, you are."

"Why would you say that?"

"'Cause you still haven't answered my question."

"What question?"

"Jeez!"

I couldn't help laughing. "It's not a secret. I met this guy in university and he introduced me to Jamaican food."

When she kept throwing me expectant glances, I added, "Yeah, we're still friends."

That would have been a good time to tell her about Kemar's offer, but I held back.

Gina was one of those people who was warm and friendly and made me want to tell her all kinds of things she didn't need to know. I turned the tables on her. "Tell me something I might not know about where you're from."

"Like what?"

"How easy is it to do business in Jamaica?"

A slight frown creased her forehead. "That depends."

"On what?"

"The kind of business you're doing, of course." She gathered her hair together in a band before asking, "You're planning on going into business there?"

"It’s a possibility."

That intrigued her because her eyes opened wide. "Really? Tell me more."

I shrugged. "There isn't much to tell right now."

She poked my arm. "Come on, I know there's a story there."

Gina fixed her eyes on me until I spoke. "My friend wants to open a gym and sports therapy center."

"And he wants you to work there?"

"Yes, he wants me to come in with him."

"What does that mean?" she asked.

I wasn't sure why I was reluctant to tell her my business, but when she prompted me by raising her eyebrows, I said, "He wants me to invest and help in an advisory capacity."
