I silently blush.

Jason is my biggest cheerleader ever. He makes me feel so beautiful.

“Now let’s get dressed. We can wrap this up as a gift to your mom.”

“Jason!”

“You’re so damn gullible, of course I will not gift your mother a naked picture of her daughter to her. Then she’ll know I banged it out before the wedding night!”

“Oh my God, we aren’t going.”

“Oh, we’re going. Your mother has the right to meet the man her daughter is going to marry.”

“Does it have to be today?”

“To-fucking-day.”

I grew up enjoying Thanksgiving dinner over different family member’s homes. Sometimes we were with my mom’s side of the family and other years we were with my dad’s, but Christmas is different. Christmas has always belonged to mom and Aunt Lorraine. They love it. Which means that many of my mom’s side of the family will be there. Many of whom have zero filter or celebrity manners.

“I think I should prep you first… or them for you.”

“All moms love me. I’ve got this.”

“It’s not just my mom.”

My first thought is Cecily. I guarantee it will be her sole mission to passive-aggressively embarrass me in front of Jason.

“Go get dressed. I put your things in the second drawer of the chest in my bedroom.”

“You put my things in a drawer?” I ask incredulously.

“Yeah.”

“But I’m going home tonight, Jason.”

He slides his tongue in between my lips and leisurely makes love to my mouth for a moment.

“Who says you are?” he whispers into my skin.

Holy shit.

This has got to be love.

ADRIENNE

I wasn’t a complete fool.

I took my cell phone with me into Jason’s bathroom and called my mom ASAP. There was no way I was walking into Christmas Dinner without giving her a heads up.

“Mom,” I whisper.

“Merry Christmas, Sweetie!”

“Merry Christmas. Listen, I’m bringing a guest to dinner.”

“That’s fine. Who are you bringing?”
