Stepping into the bedroom, he managed to keep his mouth on hers as he laid her out on the bed and worked her out of her leggings. Then he had an inspiration.

And a hunger. Climbing onto the bed, he moved over her and interrupted their kiss long enough to pull her shirt off. Then he went back to kissing her… everywhere.

She tried to say something as he nuzzled her breasts, so he scooted up and recaptured her mouth, keeping those tempting lips busy while he caressed every inch he could reach.

His fingertips tingled from the pleasure of touching her soft skin. He roamed at will, finally sliding his hand between her thighs. Ah, he had her, now. Lifting his head, he gulped for air.

She was breathing fast, too. “Kieran… there’s something I?—”

She gasped as he thrust his fingers deep. Holding her gaze, he stroked her slowly, then faster, savoring the approach of her climax, treating himself to a view of the fireworks in her eyes.

She came, her skin flushing a beautiful pink and her cries filling his heart with joy. Sliding down between her thighs, he took her up again and her cries were even wilder the second time.

Slipping away from the bed, he whipped off his shirt and sweatpants, put on the condom and was back, gliding his cock into the warmth of her welcoming body.

A glow in her green eyes, she wrapped him in her arms and moved with him as he coaxed them both toward a glorious release. She came again, and he joined her.

Whatever had happened today was nothing compared to this. They’d found the most precious gift of all.

As his breathing slowed, he gazed at her, the girl of his dreams. “I love you.”

“I love you, too. Will you marry me?”

He gulped. “What?”

“Will. You. Marry. Me.”

“But I thought?—”

“Go take care of the condom. I have something to tell you.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

Longest day ever. But the ending was turning out to be spectacular. Sara lay sprawled out on the bed, smiling. Desiree had wanted to give her time to think, and she had used that time well. Kieran would have been a terrible distraction so she’d stayed far away from that tempting Irishman.

She’d confused him in the process, and for that she was sorry. But the perspective she’d gained to consider all the ramifications of her decision had been so valuable.

She’d pictured leaving her job and saying goodbye to her wonderful bosses and co-workers. She’d stay for the required two weeks, of course, which would give her a chance to let everyone know how much she appreciated their friendship and mentoring.

But in the end, she had to agree with Rance. Creating her own business and being her own boss was vastly more appealing.

Leaving her personal friends would be tough. But many of her oldest ones had moved away and she’d invite all her buddies to visit her in Montana. As for leaving her hometown, whenevershe missed the familiar sights and sounds, she’d come back for a few days with Kieran and show him where she grew up.

Leaving her sister, especially when she’d be without any family there, was the hardest part. But Lani wasn’t tied to her office like Sara had been. Their parents had air miles going to waste so Lani could make frequent trips to Rowdy Ranch and work remotely.

Kieran walked out of the bathroom gloriously naked. “I’m confused.”

She sat up and tucked a pillow behind her back. “That’s because you wouldn’t let me talk when I first got here.”

“That was Rance’s idea.” He grabbed a pillow and copied her setup.

“Huh?”

“I was going to ask you why you avoided me after your time in the library, but Rance said I was better off making mad love to you instead, so you’d forget about the burr under your saddle.”

She grinned. “Well, guess what? I haven’t forgotten.”

He sighed. “Grand.”
