“Exactly. She makes him feel things which terrifies our control freak brother,” a smug Marshall said. “If he would let himself go with his feelings, he would realize he loves her. I simply made sure no one else was available to Gabe except Britney. Now she has got her chance to convince him to stick with her for the rest of his life.”

“No one else was available,” frowned Parker.

“Oh, there are still single ladies who would have liked to be Mrs. Gabriel Ramesly,” confided Marshall. “However, I am a doctor and I just had to warn them he’s got a few STDs that somehow don’t respond to regular treatment methods.”

“You didn’t,” Parker looked at his younger brother with awe and a little horror. “He will kill you if he ever finds out.”

“The ladies promised to be discreet,” shrugged Marshall. “I was saving him from a boring marriage and an even more boring divorce five years from now.”

“Please don’t ever save me,” muttered Parker.

The dancing stilled as Gabe stiffly presented the ring to Britney. She smiled, holding out her hand for him to slip the ring on. Gritting his teeth, Gabe put the diamond onto her ring finger. Everyone politely clapped.

“To Gabe and Britney,” Marshall lifted his glass at the toast. “May they finally be happy.”

“Cheers,” Parker downed his drink. “Now that is settled, who are you going to pick? Don’t tell me it’s the black widow.”

“I have done some thinking and I have a girl in mind,” admitted Marshall.

“Do I know her?” asked Parker.

“Nope,” grinned Marshall. “None of you do. She’s not even on your radar.”

“I look forward to the surprise,” replied Parker agreeably.

They watched as people came forward to congratulate a stoic Gabe and delighted Britney, admiring the engagement ring she had on her finger.
