Finding myself nodding and my feet already on the floor, I told him I’d be in right away. Hanging up from the phone call, I took in Kelton who looked helpless.

“Sorry,” I put the phone down and leaned onto the bed.

He seemed grumpy. “Who is Jason?”

A laugh escaped. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Silver….” He said my name in such a pointed way, I feared for Jason’s life if I didn’t reveal his identity.

“He’s my boss, silly. Something’s happened. I’m going to catch a ride share into the office.”

“What? No, I’ll take you.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course,” he smiled. “And this is an excuse to shower with you.”

Rolling my eyes I dashed away and into his shower. There was a sparkling silver shower head that was hanging from the ceiling. Kelton’s place was nice as hell, I could admit that. He’d even shown me the baby’s room.

My stomach felt twisty at the thought, still.

Kelton came in behind me, shedding his clothes and pushing me up against the cool tile.

“What are you thinking about in that pretty little head of yours?” He smiled down on me.

“You honestly want know?”

The smile continued to be featured on his face. “Yes.”

“I was thinking about your child,” I shrugged. “And what that means for us.”

“Silver,” he pulled my chin up and dropped a kiss on my head. “The fact that you’re entertaining anusis music to my ears. Nothing will be different, I promise.”

“And the baby’s mother?”

Kelton gave a laugh and then started for the yellow bar of soap above my head. “She’s already moved on. She’s seeing another teacher at the school where she teaches. And she’s happy, something I never made her.”

Something bloomed in my chest and I let out a soft sigh. “Okay.”

He paused in his movements, white suds slicking his body and slowly rolling down his chest. Confusion stormed over his features as his eyebrows raised.

“Okay what?”

“Let’s….start something. See where it goes.”

The bar of soap clattered to the floor as Kelton spent the next fifteen minutes eating me out in the shower and making me come all over his face. I knew right then and there, I was starting to fall for him.

Goddamn it,I admitted inwardly.

Girl, play some T-Pain cause baby, you sprung.

Chapter14

Silver

Walking into work, I had the biggest smile on my face. A coffee in hand and my lime greenTogobag that my bestie Sage had sent, a gift for landing my job, I felt invincible. Everything felt good.

I felt good.
