“Your assistant?” I frowned watching her go.
“Yeah, Dani is the best,” Silver nodded.
“Anybody told you the two of you favor each other?” I frowned jerking my thumb over my shoulder.
After seeing Silver next to her assistant it wasn’t hard to believe that I’d thought she was Silver from the back.
“Heard it a time or two. Anyway, I’ve got to get to it.”
Looking up I noted the time on the clock. I still felt tight in the trousers I’d been wearing but my erection was softening. Her assistant had killed the mood.
“Dinner,” I said before all was lost.
Silver took another deep breath. “No.”
“Sassy,” I gave her a look.
“And quit calling me that fucking name,” she groaned.
“Never.”
“I have to go.”
“I’m going to call you, Silver.”
She moved to go behind her desk. “I’m not answering. And by the way….a sex tape?”
Damn,I forgot for a second.
“What about it?”
“You think I’m going to have dinner with you, and let you think about getting some of this and you have cameras.”
A lazy smile came over my face and I braced myself on her desk. “So… you are thinking about dinner.”
“Hah, I’m thinking about it the way Chad Johnson thinks about spending money,” she shrugged.
“Nice sports reference. But I know you, Silver. And you are for sure thinking about it.”
“I’m not…”
“Silver, answer the phone tonight.”
Walking away as quickly as humanly possible, I headed out. Passing Dani’s messy desk on the way out, I saw that she had the Messy Mandy Instagram feed up on her desk. Our eyes collided and another chill went down my spine.
Silver might have loved her assistant but she was kind of creepy to me. Her eyes seemed to burrow into my back with every step that I took to the elevator. Honestly, I didn’t feel safe until I was in the elevator and headed to my interview.
Plotting out my next course of action, I was going to get Silver out to dinner if it killed me. What happened afterwards was anyone’s guess.
Chapter7
Silver
The feeling of Kelton rubbing his hands over my thighs and stopping…
A blush was crawling all over my skin as I lost myself in a sea of embarrassment. My sister sat staring at me while our mother fixed me a home cooked meal. Hints of basil and garlic had my mouth watering from just the smell. It had been a wonderful week with them even though I’d had to work.
Simone jabbed me with her elbow. “I know that look.”
