The doors to the room opened and some of the men came in. They stopped and began to look around uncomfortably. Thierry had leaned back and folded his arms, a look on his face.
“What is it?” he asked.
“Mmmm….sir…” one of the men began to blush and stutter.
I looked down and found Tibs was sucking away furiously. Looking to Thierry, I noticed he had never taken his eyes away from the men.
“Is my wife’s breast making you all fucking uncomfortable. She’s feeding our child. Spit out whatever the fuck it is you have to say and then get out. This is fucking immaturity if I ever did see it.”
My face stated that I was taken aback but I was also impressed. He was for sure going to get some pussy from me if he kept asking like this. A little shiver wound its way through my core, and I squirmed.
“Breast is best, gentlemen…please do let us know what is going on,” I quirked an eyebrow in their direction.
They squirmed a little then got it together. The Blusher started to speak again. “We had a lead on Alistair. When he first got into the country, he stopped by to visit his grandmother.”
Thierry and I locked eyes. “What?”
“I suspected he still had family here.”
Biting the inside of my lip, I straightened my back which caused me to jostle the baby. Tibs cut me a look that let me know he didn’t like it. Listening into the conversations taking place, I watched my husband give orders on the next needed steps. He wanted them to safely get our family home. They left then and he turned to me.
“I can’t do it without you,” Thierry spoke. “You are myDonna.”
Tibs finally let go, done with his breakfast. Sitting him upright and against my shoulder, I began to burp him. “Donna?”
“You my mafia queen,” he shrugged. “And I realize now my mistake with Alistair in the first place. I wanted to do this on my own. You are my equal, I recognize that. It’s the only way to secure our future…together.”
“Together?”
“Everyone including Tibs is going home,” he stated. “We’re going to stay behind for a few more days. Whatever Alistair’s hiding is with his grandmother I think.”
The baby let out the loudest burp I’d ever heard. Thierry and I looked at each other, our serious moment ruined by our child. Tiberius had a way about himself.
“Together,” I nodded.
Chapter19
Thierry
Fall was starting to blanket Italy. Hazy golden tones were hanging from the trees; I took notice as the car we were driving wound around the tight roads. There were vineyards everywhere in this part of the country and on both sides of the car. We passed farmers with cows trudging along behind them who offered slight waves. The view offered an almost upstate New York feel. For the first time in a very long time, I yearned for home as homesickness emerged.
Diamond was in the seat next to me, looking out the window. She seemed to be appreciating the view.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
She looked over, “Thinking about the baby.”
“He’s fine,” I replied. “Nanny texted he was sleeping fine. It’s only been a day.”
She arched a brow. “I don’t care if it’s a day or a month, being away from him hurts.”
“I…”
“Yes?”
“I still hate myself for faking my death. For letting you go through things alone. Last year was shitty.”
She chuckled, her tone turning seductive. “How sorry are you?”
