Ignoring him, I stood up off the bed. I nearly lost my balance, but he was there to catch me before I met the ground.
Groaning, I didn’t want to be in his arm because it made me want to admit how good it felt. I had had missed him
My anger could not be placated.
“Get off, me…get the fuck off me!”
Something that looked like hurt crossed his face. I didn’t give a shit. Where had this motherfucker been while I was growing a child?
His child.
You mean the one you just told him wasn’t his?
“I can see you’re angry. Careful, Mrs. Scarpetta, I’d think you missed me.”
Deep breaths.
Deep fucking breaths.
I began rubbing at my temples. There seemed to be a headache brewing behind my eyes. I just wanted to find the exit and leave.
“Why are you here? Why am I here?” My eyes were wide and searching the room. I didn’t want to look at him because I knew I would crumble.
“You fainted like the true southern belle you were,” Thierry shrugged. “So, I brought you here. And as for why I’m here, I’m here because it was time to come home. You’re about to have my child.”
“Your child?”
“Diamond…”
Was he really trying to take a warning tone with me? I stormed over to where I’d finally spotted my purse and ripped the gun out. I pulled the slide back and without any hesitation, I pulled the trigger. The gun went off and the sound exploded in my ears. A ringing sensation filled my ears but my hand remained steady, despite the vibrations running from my fingers and up the stem of my arm.
Thierry had never flinched when he took in the sight of the gun. I had now blown a hole into the wall pretty close to his head.
“Don’t let the pearls fool you, Thierry Scarpetta!” I looked him up and down. He was still wearing the dark hoodie and dark jeans from earlier. He looked rough; a scraggly beard covered his faces and his hair had grown out long and had started to curl up at the ends. “I’ll blow a fucking hole in you.
My daddy taught me how to shoot when I was fifteen. I only missed ‘cause I chose to. Take it as a warning shot. Don’t come near me and mines again.”
Thierry stood there and made no moves to say anything else. Maybe he was fearing that I really would kill him. I left out of the motel room and tried to get my bearings. A neon sign near the highway was blinking on and off. There seemed to be a sizzle come from it. Its big bright light letters spelled out “The Atlanta Inn.”
I wanted to vomit. Thierry had brought me to the place that Nathan and I use to go when we wanted to get lost in each other. That alone made my skin crawl. As I glanced back towards where I’d stumbled out of, I recognized it as room 129. That had been our old spot. To be honest had I been looking for my very much alive husband, the last place I would have looked would have been here. The cops wouldn’t bother coming to check out the gun shot either.Lucky me,I thought.
Making sure my gun was secured back in my purse and looking around cautiously, I pulled out my phone to get a ride share. My car was of course nowhere in sight and I needed to get home. The baby was beginning to kick up a storm and there was slight pressure coming from down below.
I had a ride there within five minutes. I didn’t look back at the motel because I couldn’t stomach the fact that my child’s father, that my husband was alive and well inside of that place.
He had let us suffer.
Chapter2
Thierry
I couldn’t get Diamond out of my mind. How full her lips looked. How sensual her body had looked. The sight of her carrying my child within her womb. A child that had kicked multiple times while she’d been unconscious on the bed of the motel room I was currently occupying.
“Fuck,” I grunted out.
My hand worked itself over my dick. I found myself gripping my shaft hard, applying a pressure that was almost painful. I could still taste my wife on my lips. Just the thought of it made me cum. Thick hot jets of cum sprayed the shower wall.
The ability to concentrate returned with my body now cleansed. Once I was finished I got out of the shower and padded out of the bathroom. With a towel slung around my waist and another rubbing water from my body, I checked the blinds.
