The words came from the other Hispanic girl.

"By whom?"

"Lena shut your mouth," the black girl slapped at her arm.

"No...I'm not going to get killed over this shit,, Tresa." she replied. "I don't know his name. He just knew what we were doing. Gave us a few thousand to put the fentanyl in with your product."

I frowned. "What did he look like? White guy?"

"You think it was Alistair?"

I shrugged. "At this point its war...he wants us all gone."

Diamond refocused on the girls in front of her, still waiting for an answer. "Well girls...was he white?"

They both shook their heads. The black girl spoke then. "Older black guy. He looks like he could be the pastor of somebodies' church."

Diamond and I both frowned at each other. I didn't know anyone fitting that description and it appeared that Diamond didn’t either. I watched her smooth fingers dance over the gun nearby. She picked it up, the black metal looking sinister in her hands.

"Ladies, I recently became a mother," Diamond started. "Part of me is saying I should kill all three of you...."

The girl on the floor that had been sobbing, started up again at Diamond's words. It was beginning to grate on my nerves. Her crying was the effect of snapping a rubber band at this point in time.

"But the motherly part of me is saying....give you three mercy. Ladies you owe you're lives to an infant named Tiberius...I better not ever see you three ever again."

"You're letting them go?" I asked. "You would be dead on the floor if I hadn't spotted them."

Diamond ignored me and rushed the girls out of the room. We watched them go and then she turned the guards who snapped to attention. "Follow them, don't lose them. Whoever contacted them will do it again. Now that they realize the plan is foiled, they'll want to make contact."

They both nodded leaving me and Diamond alone for just a moment before Enzo burst in.

"If the two of you don't fucking trust me!"

We both looked at him.

"I trust you, Enzo," Diamond tried to smile. "We got forged in the fire your brother made. We got a bond now."

"Doesn't fucking feel like it," he eyed both of us.

"Look this will be the last distribution meeting I come to," she held up her hands and then looked at me.

"Same," I agreed.

"So, I got this from now on?"

"From now on," Diamond spoke.

Her phone began to ping, and she pulled it from her purse still sitting on the desk. She eyed me and replied. "It’s the nanny. Tibs is being fussy but she's going to get him down for some sleep."

I nodded. "You should be home."

"I'm on the way there now," she gave me a salute.

"I'll be there shortly," I murmured.

Watching my wife depart, my brother had leaned against the wall. He didn't' want to talk but I didn't care. We had been dancing around this for a while now.

"I had a feeling tonight," I started.
