Swenson Brothers Times Five
“Are you and Kirk going to drive to Gillam for another load?” Fiona sat on the couch in the den, beside Leif. The closing credits for the firstDie Hardmovie played on the big screen TV as she scanned their faces.
“No, we don’t have any orders.” Stig picked up one of Josef’s polar bear carvings and fingered it, an unhappy scowl etched into his face.
“Arve and Josef are bringing more produce and another lot of dried dog food. We’re hoping that once the locals see we’re reliable, they’ll hire us to bring in some of their purchases,” Leif added.
Kirk stood abruptly and stretched his hands above his head. “Fiona, it’s time for bed.”
She frowned. “But I’m not tired.”
Stig’s blue eyes glowed, and he winked at her. “Who says we’re going to sleep?”
Leif groaned. “The pair of you have no finesse.”
“Says the brother who bonked her stupid last night,” Kirk said.
Fiona couldn’t restrain her grin. She searched her heart for shame and embarrassment since she intended to spend the night with both. Nothing except excitement pulsed through her veins. “I guess I could relax in the bedroom.”
Leif rolled his eyes and lifted her onto his lap. “I need a goodnight kiss before you go off with these two youngsters.”
He didn’t give her a chance to respond, suiting actions to his words. His arms wrapped around her, steel bands of muscle, yet his superior bulk didn’t disturb her or bring a sliver of fear. In his embrace, she found a sense of security and her feminine power surged. Their lips collided, soft at first before morphing to purposeful and passionate. The caring embroidered into the smooch thrilled her to her toes. She sank into the kiss, soaking up the pleasure and giving back as good as she received. When he set her back on her feet, her pulse raced.
“That should keep me going for tonight.” He smoothed his hand over her backside before giving her a brisk tap to send her on her way. “I’ll see you in the morning. I’m hoping Arve and Josef will hit Churchill tomorrow night. I might call them to check their progress.”
Stig took her hand and twined their fingers together. “Are you all right with this?”
“I thought we would sleep,” she replied with feigned innocence.
“Don’t try to talk her out of hot sex with both of us, numbskull.”
“What we’re doing is not considered normal by humans,” Stig said with dignity. “I… We never want to coerce you. You should never feel as if we’re bullying you.”
“You mean that your mother’s accusations will be on everyone’s lips,” she said, liking him for his honesty and his need to reassure her. She got the sense that if she said no that would be it. It might not be what the brothers wanted, but they’d follow her wishes and accept her decision.
Stig eyed her with a touch of sympathy. “Well, yes.”
“And the same labels wouldn’t apply to you and your brothers.”
“Perhaps,” Stig said as he ushered her to his bedroom.
Fiona caught her breath and tried to marshal her thoughts. “Robert used me, treated me as a cheap commodity. He’s still arguing he deserves half of my money. All this time, he pretended he loved me, and now I’ve discovered our relationship was a mirage built on greed. It’s different with you and your brothers. You’re not pressuring me, and my instincts are whispering to me.”
Kirk opened the door to Stig’s bedroom. “What’s your gut telling you?”
“To enjoy the hell out of myself before you decide you’ve made a mistake in choosing me.”
Stig tweaked her nose. “No chance of that with our bears driving us to mate with you.”
“Enough talk.” Kirk shunted her and his brother into the bedroom before locking the door. “I want to see you naked. I’ve a yearning to lick you all over.”
His emphasis onallbrought a swift influx of heat to her cheeks. “Only if I get to explore too.”
“Yes,” Kirk shouted. “She’s getting with the program. I bet I can strip off quicker than you.”
Fiona loved a good challenge. She toed off her shoes and ripped off the long-sleeve shirt she’d borrowed from Stig. It dropped to the floor. Next, she whipped her T-shirt over her head. A flick at the back of her bra had it dropping down her arms. She paused to see the men’s progress and slowed.
“Hey, this is meant to be a contest.”
