Fang practically rolled over in my head saying, “Our mate knows us so well.” I admitted, “I can’t really take full credit because I never would’ve thought of it without a certain someone.” Lacy snorted, “Oh, please. You were the one who went to Haley in the first place.”

I grinned asking, “What are you saying?” Lacy replied, “That you knew she would put a crazy twist on it. Which means the twist is ultimately all you, Dylan.” I admitted, “Krampus and his evil looking Krampus elves and trolls pulling sleigh deer will be attacking the party.”

“Party goers must save Christmas and use the decorations that turn into weapons once touched. Once all the drinks are had, of course. SGAP always got snockered at my parties. Dylanmas was the one he let go the most at.”

“Imagine him trying to save Christmas for his pups unable to go in a straight line. It’s going to be great! Oh, and Krampus’s sleigh is black with skulls on it. It sounds pretty bad ass if I do say so myself. I really can’t wait to see it come together.”

Lacy’s jaw dropped before she gathered herself. I added, “It’s a secret from all but you and the planning committee.” Lacy laughed and used her finger to lock her lips and throw away the key. I caught it wiggling my eyebrows.

I told her, “That won’t do since I have such plans for that mouth.” Lacy encouraged me via link, “Then come over here, my big bad Beta.” I grinned, ready for my Christmas Lacy Bunny.

No Grinches Allowed

July

Lacy was nervous. Kiara told me, “We are doing the right thing.” I was really hoping so. Everything was set to go this morning. Emmaline came and sat beside me. I admitted, “I just hope I’m not pushing Dylan into this. You know him and if he wants to do something, he does. My mate hasn’t brought Dylanmas back for a reason.”

Emmaline snorted, “In case you haven’t noticed, we all push our mates. Sometimes, they push us but that’s what we do for each other.” I winced, “This is different. Dylan stopped hosting his Friend's Christmas Party because I ran away. I took the joy of Christmas from Dylan Frost.”

Kiara whined in my head. Emmaline disagreed, “Nothing could dull the shine of Christmas for Dylan.” I snorted, “Me running away did. He stopped Dylanmas.” Emmaline reasoned, “Ok, so he wasn’t throwing parties but you’ve been back a while now and he still hasn’t done it.”

I sighed, “Yeah, but I’m the reason he stopped.” Emmaline argued, “Yes, but now you’ll be the reason Dylan starts the party again. Plus, you know he’ll go crazy and involve Haley.” I laughed, “He will, because he’ll make Eric do something crazy. Dylanmas can only be brought back with a twist.”

Emmaline asked, “Are you ever going to tell Dylan that Eric started this all in motion?” I snorted, “And give up the strange friendship game they play? Absolutely not. Besides, Dylan will want to figure out how Eric was behind it. My mate would never want me to just tell him Eric did it all.”

Emmaline laughed, “They are silly." I admitted, “They’ve always been like this, and it’s enjoyable for both of them. Dylan has been trying to get Eric to smile since I can remember. Lucas says it was since Dylan could roll around.” I couldn't help but think of the moment Eric came to talk to me.

Flashback

Lacy was playing with Buttercup and Finn. Suddenly, I felt the presence behind me. Kiara announced, “It’s Thor.” I greeted, “Hello, Eric.” Buttercup squealed which meant Wesley came too. Finn clapped animatedly and they all began to play. Pups had so much energy.

I got up and walked over to Eric. I admitted, “Well, this is a surprise. You’re generally quite busy at this time of day. Haley usually brings Wesley, and we didn’t have a playdate scheduled.” Eric agreed, “I know but I’ve had this time blocked off my calendar for a year.”

I asked, “Huh?” Eric sighed, “I always planned to come talk to you because it has to be you. I tried and it didn’t work. So, it’s you because for him it’s always been about you.” I asked,” What’s me?” Eric answered, “Dylan stopped throwing his Friends Christmas parties.”

I bit my lip before asking, “Doesn’t that make you happy? You always complained about having to go to Dylanmas.” Eric said, “It’s a thing he and I do and it makes the man all twitterpated. Dylan used to lord it over his dad without it being obvious that he got a graphic design degree.”

Kiara snickered in my head. Eric continued, “Part of that was the damn Christmas Party invitation. Because god forbid it be one invitation. No, the man had to send one per month. Each more perilous than the one before it. Often with more glitter than the last. Which always seemed impossible.” Davis didn’t care for that degree, but Dylan was really talented.

Eric admitted, “I even made a horrible invitation the first year you ran away thinking he’d have to fix it, but he didn’t. He just told everyone I loved him, but he wasn’t having the damn party. I made it so bad the minions in his brain would demand he fix it. I even sent it in fucking October to piss him off and it didn’t work.”

I gasped, “You did not.” Kiara cackled, “Thor said they did.” Eric thumbed through several things on his phone then showed it to me. My jaw dropped and I actually let out a snort before quickly recovering. I said, “It’s the thought that counts. There are templates you could’ve used for this though.”

Eric sighed, “Ok, well at the time I didn’t know that. Plus, the goal was for it to be awful. No one seems to grasp that part of my plan. I didn’t even tell Caleb I was doing it all to try to get Dylan to be his jolly, cheerful, party throwing ass self. I have since been signed up to some fancy template invitation shit. Your mate pays for it and has since then, and I’ve never used it. Do I have a renewed subscription every year despite that fact? I do.”

I admitted, “That does sound like Dylan.” Eric snorted, “It’s exactly like Dylan to needlessly spend money solely to point out I tried to get him to throw a damn Christmas Party. It even has a stupid name for it.” That Eric knew and wasn’t saying even though I had.

I pointed out, “Yet here you are again, trying to get my husband to throw Dylanmas.” Eric pointed out, “No, I tried to do and it didn’t work. This time I’m doing things differently. I’ve given him enough time to correct his error in not throwing the damn party but he hasn’t.”

I questioned, “What do you mean?” Eric said, “There’s been no damn party in years, and he loves it. So, you’re doing getting him to throw the party this time instead of me. I don’t really care how you do it. Employ Beta’s, Danver, Lucas, mate ways, or theChristmas store shop man. Just get Dylan to throw the goddamn party and be normal.”

I touched his arm, “Eric, Dylan is his normal self.” Eric argued, “Mostly but he loves that damn party, Lacy. It delighted Dylan to no end to throw it and make sure I was coming. I even know he’ll go crazy and have to top his previous parties for his return.”

Eric grumbled, “Which means my mate will get involved and probably my Fairy brother in law. Nevertheless here I am, telling you to find a way to make it happen. I’m going to willingly deal with all of that in the name of Dylan’s damn Christmas Party.”

“Dylan has most of his mojo back. We need Jolly Saint I’m practically Christmas itself Dylan to return. This is the final step. I don’t know what his hang up about throwing the damn party is now that you’re back, but you’re now required to get him to throw it.”

I admitted, “I loved going to those parties. Dylanmas was always a lot of fun.” Eric sighed, “Everyone loved it because literally no one put more time, energy, and thought into those parties than your mate. I know Dylan doesn’t want to admit he wants his parents to be proud of him, but Davis and Betty bragged how well he threw that party.”
