“Saying it doesn’t make it so.” She slides her hand down her body until her fingers hover over her mound, a look of challenge in her eyes.

“You wouldn’t dare,” I gasp out, more turned on than I’ve ever been in my life.

“Watch me.” Her fingers have barely grazed the top of her slit when my hand snakes out and snatches hers away, replacing it with mine.

“To be fair, I do owe you an orgasm …” And then my lips are too busy, licking her juice from her lips and thighs and sucking her clit into my mouth, to say any more.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Greer

Joshissogoodwith his tongue. And I’m still sensitive from the first mind-altering orgasm. It only takes me a minute to come all over his face.

I feel much better now. All the angst of the past couple of weeks, and the anger of my afternoon meeting, have been washed away in a tidal wave of orgasms.

Being the overthinker I am, it doesn’t take me long to start wondering what—if anything—comes next. Because we’ve been here before. I try to distract myself.

“You know, at this rate, you might be able to move in here in a week or two. The occupancy inspectors are all booked in, and I’m pretty sure you’ll get immediate approval, thanks to Dave,” I say once my heart rate is within a safe range.

Josh goes still beside me.

“Yeah. About that …”

My spidey senses are tingling. Not for nothing have I lived through the shenanigans of three brothers. I can tell when someone has been cornered into dropping information they don’t want to give up.

I sit up and give Josh a look designed to melt his frontal cortex. It doesn’t have quite the impact I’d like, given I’m still completely naked.

“What doesabout thatmean?”

Josh looks everywhere but at me. He sits up and rests his forearms on his raised knees. The silence stretches on and I’m about to cave and say something when he clears his throat.

“I had a call this week. From one of the biggest agencies in the region. They’re looking for an executive creative director. And they want me.”

I open my mouth to say that’s great when I realise there must be more to it. My mouth snaps shut. Waiting for the bomb to drop.

“And?”

“And their head office is in Melbourne.” Josh winces on that last word.

I try to hold it in until I can think clearly. Try to think ‘what would a wise person do here?’ before I respond. But I can’t.

“What the actual fuck, Josh? Are you kidding me?” My pitch is so high dogs start barking in the neighbouring suburbs.

“No, I’m not kidding. Hear me out.” His hands go up. And well they might. I feel like I’ve been kicked in the belly by a prize bull.

I’ve spent the last nearly four months working my guts out to give him a beautiful home to live in, and before he even moves in, he’s off again. Not to mention what we’ve just done.

I leap to my feet. Well, more like struggle. Either way, I’m on my feet. I don’t know what to address first. The fact that he’s walking away from a home he said he wanted. Or that he’s taking a job with another firm when he said he wanted to start his own agency. Or that he fucked me, again, knowing full well he’d be leaving. And don’t even get me started on abandoning his brother. I do the only thing I can under the circumstances. I start pulling my clothes on as fast as I can.

“Greer …”

I ignore him.

“Greer. Stop.” Josh tries to take me by the shoulders, but I pull away, almost overbalancing as I yank up my now wrinkled and grubby skirt.

“Please, Greer. Let me explain.”

“No. I don’t want to hear another word out of your mouth. I just can’t.”
