“Firstly, I don’t stink. And two, you’d hit it just like this.”

He leans over the box, grabs my throat, and gives me a hard kiss.

“True,” he groans against my mouth. “Give me some.”

“Wait. I’m sweaty…”

He lets me go with a wink. “That’s what I thought.”

Standing, I give him a side eye. He continues working like he doesn’t feel my glare. Jagger gets on my nerves acting like he knows me.

I strip and get into the shower, sighing when the warm water hit’s my body. So good. I find myself humming then realize I’m the happiest I’ve been in a while. The mental break was much needed.

Once I’m done, I find that the box and toys have been put away and Jagger is dressed up. His hair is neatly combed out of his face to bring out the interesting shade of brown in his eyes. He’s wearing a light blue button up shirt that has small navy dots. It’s rolled up to his elbows to display the checkered material underneath. His shirt is tucked into khaki pants. Jagger is wearing a brown belt and shoes. He looks up from putting on his brown leather watch and smiles at me.

He’s wearing the same cologne he had on when he demanded his sample. I want to jump his bones.

“Where are you going?”

“I have a date.”

“We do?” I’m confused.

“No. You’re staying here. Put on your pajamas.I’mgoing on a date.” He checks himself in the mirror. “She’s an older woman. Fine as hell too. She’s picking me up like a proper sugar mama.”

I’m staring at him in stunned silence waiting for him to tell me he’s kidding but our elevator dings.

“Jagger? Let’s go. Bring your crazy ass on.” My mom looks down the hallway and sees me standing there in my robe. “Karessa, baby. Go put on something. Lounge clothes are better than just a robe.”

“I just got out of the shower,” I explain but turn to do what she told me.

“I’m almost ready, you sexy thing you,” he tells my mother.

“Boy, I’d threaten to spank you but something tells me you’d like that.” She shakes her head and leaves towards the kitchen.

My mom does look pretty. Her green dress is fitted, her heels are high, and her hair is on point.

“You know...I’d make a joke but it’s too soon.”

Jagger grins at me because he knows what I mean. He grabs my shoulders after I don a shirt and some lounge pants. “When we were ‘dating’ you were all in my business, well now I’m in yours. Up until last month, your dad has been a solid father. He doesn’t act like Oran’s and my piece of shit sperm donors. He made one mistake. A mistake that got you me. Call me biased, but that sounds like a decent plan. I’m just saying…”

“Jagger…” I whine, but he shakes his head and grabs my arm.

My parents are in the living room hugging like they’ve just met.

“I’d squeeze her too,” Jagger jokes to get my parents’ attention.

My mom rolls her eyes. “Let’s go, boy. You’re paying by the way.”

He chuckles as they get on the elevator. “But I already told Karebear that you’re my sugar mama. Can I at least get a hug?”

My mom pats his shoulder. “Please tell me you have better game with my daughter.”

“She likes me,” he says as the door closes.

“I got us some pizza. Pepperoni pineapple. You’re the only one who’ll eat it with me…” my dad prompts and motions to the table.

I nod and sit down. It’s awkward between us and it never was since before the poker match and then him putting his foot down.
