“Wooooow, really? I’ll give you a pass since you're under the baby’s spell, but we’ll revisit this later,” Heaven teases him with her arms folded and an impressive pout on her face.
“You know what I mean, woman. Don’t be a brat, it’s not about you right now.”
She pushes his forehead with the tip of her finger. “Remember you said that, Mr. Behr.”
“Are you two done?” Beau asks with a laugh.
“As I was saying,” I begin. “We’ve picked a name for our son. After careful consideration, we’ve named him Behr Breton Scott.”
Axel jumps up like he just won the lottery. “Will it be spelled like my last name?”
“Yes,” Beau confirms.
“Awwww,” Heaven coos. “Welcome to the family Baby Behr. Oh! Teddy Behr! I love it! Where did you get Breton?”
Brett shifts his stance looking almost sheepish. “When I told you my whole name, I didn’t think I’d hear it again,” he smiles at me, and I love how he’s almost pink. “But thank you. I’m honored.”
“No. Thank you. You’ve helped a lot and kept them safe even before I knew about him,” Beau tells him.
“Stupid hormones,” I joke when the tears start to fall. “I love you all and am happy that my son will have the best support system ever.”
Axel looks touched and Heaven takes the moment to cuddle the baby. We laugh when she moves behind Brett for uninterrupted baby time.
I’ll forever remember this as one of the happiest moments of my life.
One Year Later

“Come on baby!You got this, Behr!”
Behr wobbles as he steadies himself. His green eyes flash with excitement as he claps his slobber covered hands. His light brown hair—sticking up in wild waves—bounces when a chubby leg moves forward.
Beau squeezes my shoulders excitedly, but I focus on holding my recording phone steady.
“Come to Papa,” Beau encourages him. Behr giggles, displaying his two bottom teeth then takes two more steps before he falls.
“Yay!” we cheer.
“You did so good, baby!” I tell him as I scoop him up, then drop my phone in my purse.
I shower him with kisses until he grabs my cheeks with his damp hands and tries to mimic me.
“Awww. That was such a cute picture,” Heaven exclaims, and my phone buzzes. “I just sent it to you.”
Heaven and Axel are on baby duty tonight. Beau has some work for a case, and I have plans. Axel and Heaven will be at our home while Beau is in his office. I’m confident they can handle things next door, but they felt better keeping him in his environment until he’s a little older.
“Thank you again for babysitting.”
“Sure thing. We want to make sure you’re able to go on your date,” Axel jokes then scoops Behr out of my arms.
“Very funny,” Beau says, then shoots Axel his middle finger.
I grab Beau’s cheeks and kiss him on the lips. “You know you’re the only one for me.”
Beau nods with mirth shining in his eyes. “But if I were ever to have competition—”
“Oh, hush.” I kiss him once more. “I love you. I’ll call you on my way back.”
