I laugh when Bodhi huffs, then leaves us. I see Brett—ever diligent—hanging back, but never too far from Celeste. I know they’re friends, but I’m impressed with how seriously he’s taking his role here. I sit next to him at the table he’s occupying alone.

“Hey, I’m going surfing with Axel and Bodhi in the morning.”

“You surf?”

It’s a valid question. I’m not exactly running to the beach like the other two.

“I used to surf a lot. Not as much anymore.”

Brett purses his lips, still looking forward. “Okay, just tell me what time to be in the room.”

“I know you two are friends, but I appreciate your dedication to her safety.”

“Thank you,” he says and sits back, but his eyes still scan our surroundings.

“I won’t knock you out of your zone. I just want you to know I’ll be paying you for this trip.” He frowns like he’s about to argue. I’m aware that he cares enough about Celeste to do it for free, but paying him is my way of expressing gratitude. “Non-negotiable. I’m paying you, even if I have to hunt down your bank account and deposit it myself.”

He cracks a smile. “Fine.”

I drum my fingers on the table as I smile at Celeste from across the room. “And try to have a little fun,” I tell him as my desire to be near my wife overtakes me. “We’ll have cake after lunch.”

Weston

“I’ve been circlingthe Scott residence, and he hasn’t returned. His assistant said he’d called to tell her he’d be out of town for a while, but he didn’t give her a location. I had a buddy look up his credit card activity, and the last charge was in the U.S. Virgin Islands.”

Everything he’s not telling me pisses me off. Beau is out running around with my bitch, and this P.I. is one step behind them at every turn.

“Is there a fucking point to this story? DID YOU FIND THEM OR NOT!”

“No. That’s the problem. I got to the island, and they were gone. Hell, I’d even gone back to her parent’s house, and there’s no sign of them either. They are definitely in a different state. I’m following some leads to find out.”

“Don’t fucking call me without a real update. Her little speech made my parents freeze my trust fund. I live beyond my doctor’s salary. I need the rest of my fucking money. Also, I have a meeting with the review board. Some complaints have been made against my license. This is beyond my dad’s reach. This is filed with the state. Find that asshole, I know he has something to do with this. Then, return my woman back to me.”

“On it. I’ll let you know as soon as I find them.”

I hang up and toss my phone across the room. “I’m going to kill both of them. I’ll hurt Beau until he has no choice but to watch me fuck and torture Celeste. Then, I’ll let him bleed out as he stares at her dead body.

Fuck.

The thought of robbing them of their lives is far more arousing than the promise of sex. My doorbell chiming makes me break into a smile. My new puppy has arrived.

I swing open the door and grab Emma by the hair. “No talking. I don’t want to hear your voice.” She yelps when I pull her inside and push her to the ground. “Suck my dick. I’m not going to tell you twice.”

Celeste

Beau’s parents took mine and Ernest and Trudy back to the Virgin Islands with them, for the remainder of the week. Keri had to get back to the magazine and Latoya left with her business partner Bodhi. Axel’s and Heaven’s parents returned home early the next morning, leaving us newlyweds and Brett behind. Our impromptu wedding trip turned into a honeymoon.

Beau's eyes simmered with mirth when Axel dragged Heaven off after lunch. We may have been in the same hotel but only saw each other once a day for lunch. Otherwise, Heaven and I were held hostage by our husbands until we were too tired to move. Brett got the break he deserved. Even with the wonderful farewell dinner, the five of us shared, our wedding night will always be a treasured memory.

I giggled when Beau closed our hotel room door and leaned against it like a predator. He’s been trying to get me alone since we said our vows.

We’re married!

I didn’t think I’d ever want to get married again, yet I have a whole husband months after finally getting rid of the previous one. My heart was so full of love when I looked at him; I thought I was going to explode. Beau's head tilted as he took in my expression then responded like he’d read my thoughts.

“I love you, too. Now strip, Mrs. Scott.”
