“Allie? Do you know on which drive the iFit account is located?” I ask the top of her head.

Unlike some of the more obvious employees giving me knowing looks, Allie prefers to seem engrossed in her tasks.

“I just sent the link to you,” she says, never looking up. I shrug inside my head.

“Okay, thanks.” My group still watches me. I can feel their stares.

I turn abruptly, and some have the decency to look down at their desks. I don’t blame them. Yesterday, they witnessed Janet being removed, and today, I have a lovely visit from Heaven. It’s more drama than I’ve ever had in all the years they’ve worked for me. I kind of feel bad.

I raise my voice for everyone to hear. “Hey, group. Don’t eat breakfast or bring lunch tomorrow. I will have food catered all day.” They cheer, and I smile at the instant morale boost. “Email Allie any diet restrictions.” I turn to my abnormally busy assistant. “And, Allie…”

“On it, boss,” she cuts me off, still not making eye contact.

Boss? She never calls me ‘boss’ or ‘Mr. Behr.’ I’ve been Axel since her second day of employment. I know who I am; I don’t need them reminding me. Something is itching her ass, but I don’t have time to investigate.

I have a very tasty woman waiting for me at my house.

Heaven

I’m floored. I tentatively unlocked the door and typed in the alarm code Axel told me. Even with my post-orgasmic glow, it’s still surreal that I’m in California with Axel. It’s even weirder to be entering his home for the first time without him. Okay, I knew he was well off, but I was not prepared to see exactly how rich. As Paulo drops off my luggage, I stand in the foyer with my mouth wide open in awe. I try to tip him, but he smiles and waves me off before leaving me in a beach house that I could only afford in my dreams.

I quickly lock the wrought iron and glass door and lean against it for support.

“Wow,” I whisper to no one.

I spin slowly, my eyes land on too many things to take in at one time. The beautiful view of the ocean, the opulence of his home, and the sick ass balcony. I need support. I whip out my phone and start a group video chat with my girls.

“Please tell me you got that dick,” Latoya demands the moment her face comes into view.

“That is not why I’m calling.” I laugh. “Let Keri connect, then we’ll start.”

A few seconds later Keri’s toes pop up on the screen. It appears she’s reclining on the couch. This is her M.O. She doesn’t like the camera on her face until she knows who’s on the screen.

“It’s just us, Keri,” I say.

The screen swipes to her face. “I’m surprised you’re calling so soon.”

“He’s still at work,” I tell them. “But! He had his driver bring me to his house.” I wave the keys in front of the screen.

“That’s what’s up,” Latoya says proudly.

“What does it look like?” Keri wanted to know.

“Well, all I can say is ‘wow.’ I’m still standing at the front door. I think we should do the tour together. Ready?”

“Yes!” they say, excited to see the house.

I flip the screen, showing them my current view.

“Wow!”

“Hell, yeah!”

They speak at the same time. They are now witnessing the great room with the three sitting areas. It has floor to ceiling windows, allowing an unobstructed view of the balcony, trees, and blue ocean.

“Is that a baby grand in the corner?” Keri asks in awe.

“Yes, it is,” I say equally impressed.
