Greer bit the corner of her lower lip. She looked at Thor’s cock before glancing at her mound. Her question embarrassed her enough to whisper, but she found the courage to ask. “Is there a way we could both enjoy it at the same time? We wouldnae be looking each other in the eye, I suppose. But can it work?”
Thor slowly nodded. His bride’s innocent questions reminded him that her experiences were limited in some ways that he hadn’t considered. Nothing from her past had been about her enjoyment. He remembered how she said no other man had ever put his mouth on her mound. It embarrassed him that he knew the answers to her questions because of his own experience. Guilt and shame dampened his mood, but he wouldn’t ruin it for Greer.
“Thor, I asked ye because I kenned ye’d have the answer. I dinna fault ye for having done this before. One of us should ken what to do.”
He shifted upward, so he rested on his forearms beside her shoulders. He brushed hair from her forehead before pressing a soft kiss to her plump lips. “Did ye ken ye’re the bonniest lass in the world?”
“If ye say so,” Greer whispered.
“Did ye ken ye’re the bravest woman in the world?”
“If ye say so.”
“Did ye ken I love ye more than aught in this life or the next?”
“Aye.”
Thor brought their mouths together, fusing them as he rolled them, so he was on his back. When they pulled apart, he explained. “Turn around and press yer hips back to me.”
Greer eagerly followed his directions, quickly understanding the logistics. It was as she’d imagined. She’d worried they might have to lie on their sides, and that seemed beyond awkward. A moment of doubt flashed through her mind when she realized Thor would have a clear view of her back while she could see very little else of him than his cock. But all thought vanished when she felt his tongue swipe her seam. She lowered her head and licked him from stem to stern. His groan spurred her on to swirl her tongue around the bulbous head, and she sighed when his tongue dipped inside her.
They went back and forth, taking turns with small motions that drove them both to the edge. Thor’s hands massaged her bottom as she cupped and rolled his bollocks. When one hand wrapped around her thigh to tease her nub as his tongue thrust in and out, she inched toward her release. She sucked in a noisy breath when his hand swept up and down her back, but her worry soon passed, finding the sensation erotic. Her core tightened before the spasm shot pleasure outward to the tips of her fingers and toes.
“Greer, turn around.” Thor’s voice sounded strained and desperate to his own ears. He held on by the last thread of his willpower. He breathed easier when she sat up, and he helped her move toward him. He didn’t expect her to shift and lie on her back, stretching her arms over her head. It arched her back, lifting her breasts toward him. He kneaded one as he suckled the other, settling between her legs. As he thrust into her, she drew his hand away from her perky nipple that he teased. She brought it up to the wrist that remained above her head, wrapping it around her before sliding her other hand beneath theirs. “Greer?”
“I trust ye completely, Thor. I love that ye’re bigger than me, stronger than me. I always feel safe with ye. I never feel threatened when we’re lying like this because we’re making love. Even when we dinna take our time, I never fear ye hurting me because it’s rougher than like this. I dinna feel out of control with ye. Instead, I enjoy letting ye lead sometimes. I dinna mind ye holding ma wrists, making me wonder what ye’ll do next. When I ken I’m at yer mercy, I ken it’s only a question of what pleasure ye will give me next.”
Thor tightened his hold just enough to capture and keep her hands in place, but she could easily break loose. He kissed her neck and behind her ear as he thrust into her over and over. She pressed her feet into the bed, her hips meeting each surge with their own.
“More… Aye… Merciful saints. Aye, right there… Like that… Oh!” Greer struggled to keep her eyes open as the sensations overwhelmed her.
“Ye’re perfect, wee one. Ye feel so good. I canna wait much longer.”
“Dinna. I’m so close.”
Thor thrust into her, circling his hips before withdrawing. He thrust again, his pubic bone rubbing against her pearl. He felt Greer’s core tighten around him, clamping him in place as they rocked together, his seed filling her. He released her arms, and they wrapped each other in a tight embrace, sharing soft, breathless kisses. They remained joined, panting and staring into one another’s eyes. This was bliss.
CHAPTER26
Thor watched his grandfather take a seat at the head of the oblong table in the laird’s solar. To Liam’s right sat Thor’s father, then his mother. Thor sat to Liam’s left, a seat he’d never occupied before. Alex had always sat there. It shocked him when his uncle pointed to the chair and told him it was now his. Greer sat to her husband’s left, uncertain why she’d been called into the meeting. Alex, Tavish, Magnus, and Tristan stood behind their wives, who sat beside each other. Torrian and Catriona sat at the far end of the table with Michail to his father’s right, and Blythe on his other side. Ward and Aidan stood behind their wives.
“I invited the MacLeods to visit because we’re in the midst of an important shift in our part of the Highlands. Tristan and Mairghread are here nay only as ma son and daughter but as neighboring laird and lady. Greer, I asked ye and Thor to join us because this is aboot the Gunns.”
Greer had suspected as much, but she didn’t understand why the MacLeods were involved. They were related to the Gunns through Catriona, but their land didn’t border the Gunns like the Sinclairs’ and Mackays’ did. She watched Liam, then shifted her gaze to everyone else. But before Liam could say more, someone pounded on the door. Without waiting for an invitation to enter, the door swung open. Hamish Sutherland held it open for his wife as Amelia passed through.
“Aboot bluidy time ye arrived.” Liam stood with a broad smile as he strode over to embrace Amelia, then Hamish. “We have a wedding in a few hours, so we couldnae wait much longer to start this meeting.”
“It’s nae like ye gave us much warning,” Hamish grumbled as he pulled out one of two remaining chairs. He stepped aside for Amelia to take it as another couple entered behind them. Greer recognized them as Hamish and Amelia’s son, Lachlan, and his wife, Arabella.
Now Greer was thoroughly confused. The Sutherlands also bordered the Gunns, but to the south instead of to the north. She supposed they might be there for the wedding; however, they’d come to the meeting too. She remained silent as the Sinclairs, Mackays, and MacLeods greeted the newest arrivals. She smiled and dipped her chin when both couples looked in her direction as Liam spoke again.
“When it became clear matters were simply untenable with Edgar, I sent a missive to King David. Inevitably, Edgar would die, and while I urged the Gunns to accept Greer as their laird, I kenned it was improbable. In ma missive, I suggested an alternative, so Gunn blood might still flow through the next laird, but the mon I named would be intelligent, fair, and levelheaded. Those are traits that have long been missing from the Gunn lairds over the past three generations. As soon as King David’s response arrived, I dispatched a messenger to the MacLeods, asking them to come here.”
Liam leaned forward to see Greer and reached out his hand. She slid hers into his before he gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Greer, ye sacrificed much for yer clan, always trying to protect them. We all ken the truth: if ye’d been a mon, ye’d be laird right now. It’s nae fair. But the clan of yer birth needs a leader now. King David has granted the title of Laird of Clan Gunn to Edward.” Liam looked at Ward. “Much like me with Callum, Torrian has handed over almost all the duties of laird to Michail. Michail and Blythe’s son is still too young to be yer clan’s tánaiste, so Aidan still fills that role. One day he willna, but that is a long time to come. He’ll always play an important role in yer clan. As the third son, Ward, ye would too. But I believe ye can lead as well as either of yer brothers and being the youngest brother shouldnae keep ye from that. While the Gunns’ land is within ma earldom, Assynt lies in a unique position, as part of it is in the Earldom of Sutherland and part is in the Earldom of Caithness. As such, Hamish and I both wish to confer the lairdship upon ye. Edward MacLeod, do ye accept?”
Greer froze as she watched Ward. It was clear he already knew why Liam summoned his family and him. This was a technicality. She glanced down at Liam’s hand, which still held hers before looking up at Thor. He appeared as stunned as she felt. He hadn’t known either. She supposed he hadn’t been around enough to hear any of the discussions or for Liam to inform him of his plan. Emotions warred within. Hurt that her former clan would never acknowledge her for how she’d led them for most of her life conflicted with the disdain she felt for them. Fear for the good people of Clan Gunn made her worry about whether Ward would be as fair a leader as Liam believed. Relief that she was no longer responsible for her clan lifted a weight from her shoulders.
