High stakes! Higher hopes! As the pressure builds and the snow heats up, Sam and Finn are chasing that gold with fire in their veins and snow in their hearts. What’s their #MeltingPoint #WinterOlympics2026 #FinnAndSam

Snow in their hearts? Sam’s nose wrinkled. That sounded as if she and Finn were cold and calculating. Ignoring the rapid increase of likes on the post, and the comments that seemed to be coming in faster than snow in a blizzard, Sam, once again, put her phone down. She was too tired to think, and her early call to train was in the back of her mind. All she wanted was to snuggle a hot water bottle and make a hot chocolate.

Back in the room Maya, skin glowing and with two eye patches sitting on her cheeks, hummed happily while Sam made two hot chocolates.

Maya glanced at her phone. “Looks like half the gang have gone clubbing with Leo and Becky. Practice in the morning will be interesting.”

Sam nodded. “Not to mention the qualies tomorrow night.”

“Let’s hope they don’t wake us up when they get in,” Maya said. “For a fancy hotel, these walls are thin! And Becky is next door.”

“Are you kidding me?” Sam sipped her hot chocolate.

“Nope.” Maya draped her comforter around her shoulders. “I’m cold, aren’t you?”

“A little, but I think it’s tiredness that’s making me feel it more.” Sam nodded to her phone. “Great pic, by the way.”

“You saw the post?” Maya said opening the Instagram app on her phone. “It’s getting a ton of likes.”

“Yeah, butsnow in their hearts?” Sam frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“That you both love snow.” Maya wrinkled her nose. “What else would it mean?”

“That we have cold hearts.” Sam dragged a comforter across her knees.

“Only you would think that,” Maya said with a huff. “Look at the comments. No one else thinks that at all. In fact, they think the entire opposite.”

Sam took the phone from Maya and scrolled through the comments, her eyes flying over the words:

Go Finn and Sam! Win Big!

Watching from Montana. Go Team!

Gorgeous couple—with that chemistry they should be a real couple #MeltingPoint

Hell, yeah they’d make the perfect couple and I want to see exactly what their #MeltingPoint is! Hehehe! Bet it’s hawt!

“Oh God.” Sam handed the phone back to Maya. “That’s crazy.”

“No, it’s not, and so what. Let them think it.” Maya was busy liking each comment. “It can’t do any harm. It’s a good thing really—look what happened when Becky started posting photos of her and Leo.”

“What happened?” Sam said sulkily, annoyed that people were calling her and Finn a gorgeous couple. They couldn’t be a couple; they’d promised that they wouldn’t ever be.

Maya didn’t look up. “It increased her exposure, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets a big deal.” Sam winced but Maya didn’t notice. Maya continued, “And everyone loves a love story. And being with Leo too—he’s handsome and he’s still supporting her even though he can’t ski anymore. It’s like a love conquers all story. Beautiful.”

Sam stared out of the window as the snow swirled down. “True. But I have my suspicions.”

“Don’t we all.” Maya tapped away on her phone. “But at the end of the day, Sam, it must be really hard for him not being able to be out there.”

“And one of the reasons he hates me so much.” Samsighed. “But it wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t driving that day, and I can’t change what happened.”

“I’m not saying that.” Maya looked up at her. “Just try to see it from a different perspective.”
