“We want it to be a surprise,” Ava responds.

I laugh. “I bet you it’s a girl!” Reaper’s eyes narrow, then he briefly closes them and takes a deep breath, making me laugh again. A daughter would be hard enough to bring into this world, let alone the daughter of a military veteran and the president of an MC. If it’s a girl, I already pity her.

Afterward, Sophie sashays over to me and stands beside me. Her eyes are on Reaper and Ava. “Do you want kids?” she asks.

I blow out a breath that puffs out my cheeks. I was not expecting her to ask that. “Not really…” I study her face, knowing it could be a deal breaker for some women.

“Me neither,” she replies, and my chest loosens.

She glances at me. “Any reason why?”

“It’s never interested me, and I’ve never felt a need to have them. I’m happy to play uncle.” I tilt my head toward Ava.

Sophie smiles. “I feel the same way. I don’t have the patience… and the diaper changing and the crying…” She shivers. “No thanks.”

“I’m glad we’re on the same page, wifey.”

I knockon the door of the computer room. “Twitch!”

He swivels his chair around to face me. “Yeah.”

“If I email you this contract, can you print it for me?”

He frowns. “Give me your phone, and I’ll add the printer to it. Then select the file and go to print and choose our printer.”

That all went over my head, so I pass him my phone. “Here, can you do it?”

He starts working on my phone and then looks up and asks, “Are you coming tonight?”

I don’t recall anything happening. “What’s on tonight?”

“The fights at the warehouse.”

It’s not usually my thing, but I’ll give most things a go. “I think I might. Do the other women go?”

“No.”

His blunt response should be a red flag for me, but red flags seem to be my thing now. “Why not?”

“The violence… the blood… not their scene.”

“Are you saying it’s mine?” I question with a brow raise.

He shakes his head. “No,” he says, backtracking.

I shift on my feet as the images of men violently fighting flash through my mind. “Is it safe?”

“You’ll be safe there with Viper. Where’s the contract located so I can print it?”

“It’s already opened in my email… Aren’t you going to the fights?”

“I don’t really care. If Reaper wants me to stay here with the women, I will.”
