“Sweet butts,” Axle says slowly. “Every other woman who lives here that isn’t the wife or ol’ lady of a patched member.”

“The biker terms are going over my head. What happened last time?” I ask eagerly, intrigued by the biker gossip.

“They were bitches to Ava and Elena, so we kicked them out,” Axle says.

“They weren’t nice at all…” Ava utters, frowning.

“Jealousy, I gather?”

Ava nods.

“Don’t worry about me, I can handle myself.”

“You shouldn’t have to,” Reaper replies to me. That’s sweet of him to say.

“I’ll speak to them,” Viper says.

Axle laughs. “Yeah, you seem to be doing a real good job so far.” Viper picks a piece of garlic bread off his plate and throws it across the table, hitting Axle in the chest. “Hey!” Axle exclaims.

“I’ll do it,” Knox says. “I’ll set Candy straight.”

I mouth “thank you” at him across the table, and he gives me a tight nod. Gotta love my cousin. Knox, or Bomber, as they call him, has turned into such a handsome man. Sporting a more rugged appearance, his beard is longer and wilder compared to the others. When we were younger, he used to be more reserved, but now he carries a noticeable hardness. Demon, the tattooed guy next to him, looks rough around the edges too.

I lift a tomato to my mouth and listen to the chatter amongst the group. The men seem decent… All the women but Candy seem friendly. I get to spend time with Zara and Knox. I think I’m going to enjoy spending time here, and after a month, I’m going back to New York… back to reality.

“There’s a truck out front of our gates,” Twitch says, then looks up from his phone. “Did someone order something?”

“Yes, the order’s for me.”The new bed has arrived!

After dinner, I grab my skincare bag and towel and make my way to the bathroom, where I lock the door behind me. I can’t stop myself from checking the sink and then the shower, but to my surprise, everything looks clean. I blow out a breath—one less thing I have to worry about.

Following my shower, I wrap my fluffy towel around me. I line up my skincare products from first to last and apply them to my face and neck, then brush my teeth. When I’m finished, I return to the bedroom, where Viper is lying under the duvet, leaning back on his elbows.

“I was going to break in to check if you were still alive.”

“Smartass!” I utter under my breath, but then I open my skincare product bag up wide. “It takes a long time to apply all of these.”

His eyes widen. “Why do you need so many products?”

“Looking after my skin is important.”

He frowns. “You don’t need it.”

“Oh, yes, I do. Do you even wear sunscreen?” I ask him.

“No.”

I click my tongue. “You should. It will reduce wrinkles.”

He just shakes his head at me, then a slow grin curves his lips. “I have to admit, these soft sheets and pillows are pretty comfy. The bed is the perfect firmness. Good choice!”

“I told you,” I reply, amused.

I walk over to my suitcase and pull out my silk nightgown and thong, then drop the towel while smiling to myself. He clears his throat from behind me and my smile curves further. I’m not ashamed of my body, and it’s nothing he hasn’t seen before.

I step into my thong and deliberately, slowly pull it up my legs. I bring the nightgown over my head and let the silk fall and flutter over my skin.

“That was one of those most erotic things I’ve ever seen.” His voice is deep and raspy.
