I jerk my chin toward the bag. “What’s in there, anyway?”

“None of your business.”

The fuck it’s not.

“I beg to differ. You see, we had a little issue a few weeks ago. Someone put itching powder in the teams’ jock straps. Nasty business. Caused quite the scene. Coach was pissed.”

“So?”

“So you wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you?”

“Of course not.” A muscle in her neck flutters and she shifts her weight, as if preparing to make a run for it. “What makes you think I had anything to do with it?”

Only every interaction we’ve ever had.

“For starters, I can’t think of anyone who hates football players as much as you do.”

“If that’s true, you should probably widen your circle,” she snarks, lifting her chin as a pair of athletic trainers walk by, talking in hushed tones.

When they’re out of earshot, I press her. “C’mon, Sutton. What are you up to?”

“Nothing.”

She tries to sidestep me, but I block her path. “Then let me see what’s in the bag.”

“No.” She twists, moving the bag out of my reach like she thinks I’m going to snatch it from her arms. Which I would never do.Obviously. “Keep your eyes and your hands off my bag.”

“Relax. I don’t bite.” A slow smile spreads across my face. “Unless, of course, you’re into that kind of thing.”

She huffs out a breath. “Yeah, well, maybe I bite. Did you ever think about that?”

“As a matter of fact—”

“Eww.” She scrunches up her nose and it’s fucking adorable. “Don’t you need to suit up or something? Surely you have better things to do than annoy me?”

She’s right. I need to get dressed. Taped. Game ready.

Kickoff is in two hours. I don’t have the time or luxury of following my cock every which way it twitches. Not today, anyway.

I step aside to let her pass. “For the record, I’m definitely into that kind of thing.”

“You’re a pig.”

“Oink, oink baby.”

Without another word, she stalks down the hall. I turn to watch her go, admiring the way her ass moves with each annoyed step. When she reaches the end of the corridor, she throws up a hand and extends her middle finger.

An unexpected laugh erupts up from my mouth and I shake my head.

I don’t know what it is about Sutton, but the more she resists my charm, the more I want her.

SUTTON

How is this my life?

I stare at my reflection in the mirror, turning to study my pointy ears and furry brown tail. Yes, my tail. Because I have one of those now. As predicted, the costume is too big and smells like it's never been washed, despite the fact that I ran it through the sanitary cycle last night.
