I couldn’t hold back the needy sounds. Through my blurry sight, Rafe leaned down. For a moment, I thought he was going to kiss me.

“We didn’t fuck the Beta,” he growled in my ear.

He tossed the knife onto the bed and left the room. Leaving me in the throes of my orgasm. They hadn’t fucked her?I exhaled sharply, my body finally sagging against Cade.

“Oof, you pissed Rafe off.” Cade chuckled against my hair.

I cut off my shiver and threw back an elbow, connecting.

“Fuck,” he hissed, but I managed to free myself. I burst forward and came to a stop when Dorian blocked the door.

“Get dressed,” Dorian murmured, his voice husky.

My gaze dropped to the bulge where his zipper was. He moved to the side, allowing me to slide past him. My arm grazed against him, and all I heard was his exhale.

I ran to the bedroom I stayed in, slamming the door shut behind me.

After leaning against the wall until I caught my breath, I straightened and headed to the mirror in the bathroom to checkmy makeup. It’d held up. As did my hair fortunately. I fluffed it out.

I padded back to the bed where I’d laid out the dress. I disrobed and set my PJs on the bed, neatly folded, grabbed a new pair of matching panties, and slid the dress on. It took a lot of hopping and maneuvering to get the zipper up from the middle of my ass to the small of my back, but I did it.

It was undeniable; my heat was coming. There were no suppressants around, and every interaction with them was turning me into a slick-riddled mess.

They could get me through my heat . . .

Full stop. If that happened, it would burn through the suppressants I was on. After my heat, if they had one whiff of me, they’d know.

I could always make sure to make an escape before they woke up . . .

Groaning, I closed my eyes. Desire simmered under my skin, ready to burst at any moment.

I had to get my hands on suppressantstonight, the pure stuff. And not the suppressants I was used to that took hours to take effect. Repressitol would work immediately. I just never had the guts to take the fast-acting drug, because the pills were easier to take in a rush, and there were no side effects.

That wasn’t the worst bit of my incoming heat. Now that I had met my Scent Matches, my heat would bring on a Haze so severe, that I’d turn into a pained bundle of agony if I wasn’t taken care of. Another Pack could ease it, even iftheyhad triggered it. It wouldn’t be comparable to havingmyAlphas, but at least I wouldn’t want to die from the unsatiated pain.

I had to get my hands on suppressants, but worst-case scenario, I could find a Pack that would ease me through it—I mean if they were going to auction my heat—I could takeadvantage of the situation. Grabbing my shawl, I tucked it over my shoulders so it would cover my exposed back.

A bang vibrated the door.

“Let’s get going. We’ll be late,” Cade called out.

After sliding on the heels from before, I hurried to the door and through the living room where they waited. As soon as they saw me, Dorian and Rafe walked through the hall, still talking in hushed tones. Cade jerked his chin toward them. I fell into step behind the other two.

“What crawled up that luscious ass of yours?” Cade murmured, so close his delicious breath tickled my ear. “To the point that you’re slicing up our bedding?” He grabbed my hand.

I sneered at him, wrenching away. “Don’t touch me.”

“Why have you been so uptight?” he mumbled, sounding genuinely disgruntled. “It was ever since—” He went silent, and I peeked at him to see wide eyes and thick eyebrows scrunched together. “You’re jealous?” Cade said, voice unsure. “You’re jealous.” Humor filled his tone, and that flared my temper.

I whirled. “You disgust me,” I hissed, offering him a hate-filled glare.

His shoulders straightened with a jerk. Hurt flashed over his features so fast I must have imagined it. Cade’s eyebrows furrowed and his nostrils flared. It looked like he was on the verge of saying something. Instead he scoffed and strutted past, surpassing Rafe and Dorian—like he was running from me.

The other two Alphas watched me with their eyebrows raised.

“I’ve never felt that from him,” Dorian said, cocking his head.

Was he feeling him through their Alpha bonds?Pack bonds formed on their own. Once Alphas were in sync, their bond settled into place. The Ironwyld Alphas were such a unit, so comfortable with each other, they must have had their bondssettle a long time ago. In claiming an Omega, the bonds would be sealed.
