I let out a small laugh.
“What are you doing outside of the room?” Cade hissed, and his lips settled into a thin line.
I slowly entered the living room, walking to the opposite side of the coffee table.
“No wonder you came to ask me if I needed something earlier than usual.” I met Dorian’s veiled gaze. He gave me nothing—as always.
I turned to Rafe who hadn’t said anything, just watched with his scowl. I focused on Cade. His throat bobbed.
“What, fucking me wasn’t enough?” I couldn’t help my accusatory tone.
He was silent. Avoiding my eyes while red flushed over his cheeks.
“If I had known you were fucking women this close together, I wouldn’t have let you touch me.” I huffed. “Hopefully you listened in class when they taught you Alphas how to protect us from STDs. Omegas have weaker immune systems.” All things they would know. I was rambling at this point.
I swiped my hands on the dress like I was wiping germs off. I didn’t spare Rafe another look.
“Have a . . .safenight,” I finished pointedly.
“Don’t worry, Omega, you can have my leftovers once we’re done.”
I froze so still my body hurt.
“Shut the fuck up, Deborah,” Cade snapped. His sharp words managed to snap me out of my shocked rage.
Letting out a sharp laugh, I met her eyes. “Oh, no, Debs, you’re welcome to them. I don’t fuck trash. If I had known I was at such a high risk of diseases, I wouldn’t have let one finger touch me.” I curled my upper lip higher.
Her silence was deafening. And she was turning an interesting shade of purple.
I just tipped my head in the face of her rage, and I made my way back to where Dorian stood slowly. I gave him a look like he was no better than shit. His mouth became a thin line. Despite my disgust, I still needed new clothes and underthings.
“We can go in the morning.” I paused and looked back at the couch. “Whenever you can make time for me,” I finished pointedly.
Going around him, I took the few steps to reach the bedroom. I slammed it shut, pressing my back against the wood. I slid to the floor, clamping my hand over my mouth to stifle my sob. Tears spilled like a faucet. I choked back another sob, stifling the sound.
My heart felt like it was breaking.
A knock vibrated through the door. It shocked me so much it stopped the waterworks. I released a shaky breath. Even with how they made me feel, my body craved them desperately.
“Omega,” Dorian’s voice echoed through the door.
I waited another beat of silence and projected my voice. “Leave me be. I’m going to sleep.”
Silence. I tiptoed over to the bed and slid under the blankets. A moment later, the door creaked open. I kept still, hugging myself. After a few moments of silence, the door clicked shut. Tears continued to trickle from the corners of my eyes.
It hurt so much.
Right now, they were out there, fucking that Beta. Touching her the way they touched me. I couldn’t stop the shuddering exhale that slipped from my lips. The bed dipped, and the bedsheets rustled. I stayed frozen, waiting. Tense.
“Go away,” I bit out, not turning so whoever it was wouldn’t see the red rimming my eyes or the dampness on my face. I didn’t know who it was, but I didn’t care.
A long, hard body pressed against my back, shrouding me with the scent of coffee.
“Get away from me.” An arm wound around my waist and tucked me close.
“You’re needy. I could smell it clinging to you.”
Dorian?
