Dorian looked over at me, moving his attention off the image of stocks on the Epad. “She’s becoming more and more obstinate.” Dorian sighed and set the device aside.

“She warned me she wouldn’t stop. To agree to her terms.”

Cade scoffed, shaking his head. “She’s lucky we need an Omega asap.” An unregistered Omega specifically.

Purchasing her was last minute. After we received the ominous as fuck letter from Susanna that contained zero detail other than her telling us she was okay. All that told us was that we were closer to finding her than we knew.

After being together for a long time, she disappeared last year the day before we were to claim her as our Pack Omega.

Then all we get is a fucking letter?

Even if she was okay, we wouldn’t believe it until she was in front of our eyes.

It took hiring tech professionals and a shit ton of money, but we traced her letter back to an address belonging to Greymont Pack estate. I’d gone to the address, but it was an abandoned duplex with no sign of life. After that, every attempt I made to dig into Greymont Pack ended up at a dead end. They were as elusive as us and difficult to gain access to, but I couldn’t keep pushing. If we came on too aggressively, it could backfire and we’d never find Susanna.

“I think it is best we agree,” Dorian murmured finally. I jerked my chin in a tight nod.

“So we’re giving in to the brat’s demands?” Cade huffed, slamming the exit door shut, striding angrily to sit down, run forgotten. Anger traveled down our Alpha bond in a shockwave and just as quickly faded.

“She can think we are,” I offered. Dorian pointed at me, and I felt his pleasure at my comment reach through the bond.

Cade inhaled and lifted his head from the couch. He was on his feet and sniffing around me like a damn dog. I shoved his shoulder.

“You smell like her.” He narrowed his eyes. It almost seemed like an accusation. “Did you fuck her?”

His nostrils flared. His destructive, I-don’t-give-a-shit side was always present, but he veiled it under his sly comments. What I saw before me was much deeper than that, much more compulsive. I didn’t answer him.

“Why’d you fuck her?” His voice became rushed, verging on desperate.

Instead of answering, I shrugged.

What could I say? She tempted me beyond measure. Those angry, hateful looks dug under my skin like nails on a chalkboard. I preferred her face slack from my cock inside her.

“You know she was a virgin, right?” Dorian murmured, glancing at me from over his glasses before returning his focus to the Epad he’d returned to his lap.

She was a virgin?

“Or at least that was what that Alfonso De La Cruz said. He could have been lying. After all, he assured me she was docile.”

No, it wasn’t a lie. Her reactions, her awed expression, the shock in her eyes—I was the first to be inside her. A throb wracked my cock. The Omega had me weak in a way I’d never experienced. I’d been around them before, fucked them before.

She was different.Eva.

Her name was short and sweet—like her. My lips twitched up at the corners. Well, not so sweet, but I liked her like that.

“Fuck,” Cade hissed. “He’s fuckingsmiling.”

I scowled and cleared my throat. The bundle in the spare room was intriguing, and fucked like a dream, needy and whining for my knot.

“Stop exaggerating,” I murmured.

He ignored me, raking his hand through his hair. Cade shoved past me with a snarl, storming to her bedroom.

The girl best brace herself. Cade was in one of his moods.

Chapter 9

Water swirled down the drain as I washed away cum, sweat, and tears. All there was in the bathroom was a single bar of soap, a toothbrush, and a half-full toothpaste. After giving the toothbrush a good cleaning, I’d used it. There was no room to be particular, and it seemed pretty new.
