“Why?”

“Because you are so close, and I want you closer.”

Evan inched nearer, fulfilling her desire. “That’s perfect, Sweet Girl, I’m closer. What do you need now?”

“Kiss me pl—” No sooner were the words out of her mouth than Evan closed the gap between them as he captured her mouth. God, he had waited for this moment. He had hoped it would be sweet, slow, and seductive. Instead, his need for her made him rougher than he intended. Her reaction? God. It was perfect. Seraphina welcomed him as she moaned into his mouth.

ChapterFive

SERAPHINA

Seraphina had felt so self-assured before the kiss. She was certain they could have the encounter and she could keep her feelings separate. The first kiss on the airplane had shaken her assertion. It wasn’t really fair to call something so spectacular, something as mundane as a kiss. No, it was a possession, plain and simple. What was more? Her surrender was effortless.

The second time he captured her mouth, she wanted to drown in her need for him. Evan had taken a pause between the first and second claim on her mouth. He had rested his forehead on hers. “You taste better than I could have imagined.” His voice had sounded so calm. She wasn’t sure how that was possible when her heart was beating out of her chest.

“Thank you.” Her voice sounded throaty and breathless even to her own ears. She didn’t have time to deal with why she sounded that way. He captured her mouth again. His tongue was bold and dominant. None of those soft, hesitant kisses from Evan. Seraphina found she liked it very much. Her body’s reaction was apparent; the sounds she made were needy, her nipples tightened, and she was wet. So soaked from just his kiss and the pressure he exerted to her nape. She clung to him by grabbing onto his shirt, desperate for a lifeline, but the body heat through his shirt only heightened her need.

If he could elicit all of those feelings and reactions from just his mouth, she was eager to find out what Evan could do once their bodies joined.

At what cost? Her nagging internal voice questioned. Seraphina had been trying to shush it since they left the plane and the entire ride over from the airport to the hotel. With good cause, too. She couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to have her body mastered by a man who so obviously knew what he was doing. Maybe for once Seraphina could just go for it and deal with the consequences later.

Wait! What? What had she missed? Evan accompanied her to her room. Or so she thought. Ernest opened the door for them. “I’ll see that everything is as it should be and unpack your things.” Why was Ernest unpacking Evan’s things in her room?

Rather than voice her question, she walked farther into the space. This wasn’t a room. It was a vast living space. On one side, the larger portion was a living room with sofas, chairs, and a fireplace. The other side was a dining room, with a large dining table large enough to fit more, but only four chairs were present. That area led to a kitchen. All she could make out from where she stood was the stainless-steel fridge.

There were several doors, two sets on either side of the living space.

Seraphina squeaked at the sudden touch of her arm. “Are you alright?”

Evan inquired.

“Yes. Of course.”

“You’ve been miles away since we landed. Ernest was asking if you would like him to unpack for you as well?’

“No, thank you, Ernest.” She answered.

Ernest nodded. “I will place your bags in your room.” Then disappeared with her suitcase.

“What else have I missed?”

“Probably a lot. I’ll give you a quick rundown. We are staying here in the suite—”

“Um.” She mumbled.

“No need to be overly concerned. I made sure you had your space available. You have your very own room, which is adjacent to mine. Our rooms are to the left. As for the rooms on the other side of the suite, one belongs to Ernest. The other is an office.”

“Why do I feel like this isn’t the first time you are telling me this? You explained this before, didn’t you?”

Evan smiled. His voice was full of laughter. “Yes, I mentioned it on the ride over, and maybe again on the elevator.”

“I’m sorry for being so distracted.” And she was… really distracted because she hadn’t noticed that he held his mobility cane. It was the newest state-of-the-art cane on the market. Seraphina recalled Evan shied away from using visual aids in public. However, he used it in his home as well as around his office. The space appeared to be private enough for him to feel comfortable using it.

“It’s fine. You’ve been distracted since we debarked the plane. I’d like to think… I hope… I have something to do with the distraction?” It was her turn to smile. She could feel the heat creep up her cheek.

“You do,” Seraphina admitted. No need to be coy. They had exchanged fluids.

“Excellent. As discussed, we are booked here for the next three days. Check-out is on Sunday. Please make yourself at home. The fridge is stocked with beverages, fruits, and other snacks. Room service and the concierge are available twenty-four-seven. Your room has its own ensuite bathroom.” As he spoke, he took her hand.
