“Yes, Bourdeaux.”

“If emotions are running high, do you think you will remember it?”

“Yes, it was the name of the street I grew up on.”

“Excellent.”

“Evan? Why do I need it? I mean, I know it is to get you to stop something if I don’t want you to continue. But I don’t completely understand why that would happen.”

“The safety word is not used to stop an action of which you aren’t fond. It puts an end to the scene. Completely.” Evan brought their joined hands to his mouth and pressed a kiss to her hand. “It means we have pushed your body, mind, psyche, a combination, or all three too far. I hope it isn’t needed, but it needs to be in place just in case. I guarantee that I will serve and take care of your well-being.”

“That is not how I ever imagined a Dom.” Evan felt most people had a distorted view of what a Dom was. Between bad depictions in books, movies, and just shitty people masquerading as Doms, he wasn’t surprised. For him, what he described was the bare minimum. Just because he had actively practised for some time didn’t mean his principles had wavered.

“At the heart of being a true Dom is to serve. To earn the trust that your Sub is putting into your hands.”

“Well, I like the sound of it.”

The car came to a stop. “Oh, are we in the right place?” Seraphina sounded suspicious.

Evan smiled at her question. He could understand why she would be skeptical of the industrial-looking red brick building. The three-story structure kept the secrets of occupants and their behaviour. “We are in the right place. The outside of the Club is meant to be deceptive.”

SERAPHINA

The reception area was just as deceptive as the exterior of the building. It greeted them as soon as they entered the club. To Seraphina, it was reminiscent of a medical spa. It was classy and efficient, as was the sole occupant of the area. A beautiful woman who sat behind the reception desk. As they approached the desk, she greeted them immediately and promptly. “My name is Bethany. Welcome to Club Desire, Ms. Lewis, and welcome back Mr. Yang.” Her smile was warm.

Bethany looked at her as she addressed her. “Please have a seat and take a moment to complete the forms and the NDA.”

Seraphina took a seat. Ignoring the places on the form showing where she should place her signature or initials, she took her time meticulously reading every word on the form. Evan sat quietly beside her. Once she was finished completing the paperwork, she apologised to him for the wait. He brushed off her apology.

When she returned the form, Bethany smiled and thanked her. Then her face took on a serious expression.

“Ms. Lewis, we are a private club, and all members and guests must adhere to all rules of this establishment. Is that understood?”

“Yes, it is.” Seraphina nodded for good measure and the woman’s warm smile returned.

“The arrangements you requested have been made for you, Mr. Yang.”

“Thank you, Bethany.”

Evan guided her away from the reception area, down a hall to the right. Seraphina’s steps slowed as they walked. As she tightened her grip on his hand, he squeezed her’s reassuringly. She stopped short of the huge black metal industrial door. The Golden Mask on the door was bold, alluring, intriguing, and beckoned her to enter if she dared.

“Would you like a moment? We can sit at reception for a moment and collect our thoughts, or if you prefer, we can return to the car.”

Evan was with her, and she trusted him.Huh. She did trust him.Speaking of Evan, she didn’t realise he stepped closer. When he spoke, his breath tickled the side of her face. “Do you need a moment more?”

“No, I am ready,” Seraphina said with all the confidence of a woman who was prepared for whatever lay beyond the doors. When in fact she was a mile of nerves inside.

“Just remember, you are my eyes in there. I can only visualise what you describe to me.” His request was simple enough. It was one of her strengths to convey what she saw to those around her. Growing up, she was the only sighted person in her house, so she developed the ability to convey details about the world around her. Her proficiency increased as she used those skills at work. In fact, this wouldn’t be her first time describing the world around her to Evan. Seraphina had helped train his staff to do so. Even so, part of her wondered if she could do what came naturally to her when Evan's presence overwhelmed her. She was acutely aware of everything about him. Especially when he held her hand like he was doing. Their interlocked digits shouldn’t feel so intimate, but they did.

Evan stepped forward and opened the door. Taking a shaky bubbling breath, she stepped inside the room. From the outside, she would have never guessed how large the space was. It was probably even bigger than it looked because the walls were black. Her gaze swept the space. They had no intention of staying on this floor. They had already decided they would visit the second then end their trip on the third floor in a private room.

“What do you think?”

“The bar is impressive. Especially the statues.” Seraphina found the bronze nude life-sized sculptures that adorned the wall of the bar fascinating. Especially the male statue… and how anatomically correct it was.

“They certainly are a signature piece.” As they spoke, the couple moved to the left, past the lounge area, to the bank of elevators.
