Before he could apologize, Malcolm found him. “Prime wants you.Now,Kellen.”
Kellen sighed, ignoring his aches and minor injuries. “Okay.” He followed Malcolm, doing his best to ignore the pain of separation from Ravagers that felt more and more like family.

Kate staredin horror at Jesse’s wound, which wasn’t healing like it should. Ravagers had an ability to heal rapidly, but whatever had made the wound in Jesse’s leg impeded his capacity to mend.
“I’ll get Meg.” Logan took off in search of their healer.
Kate kissed Jesse’s cheeks, worried about her mate who wouldn’t wake up.
Kellen had looked so sad before he’d left, and she wanted to comfort him the way she wanted to care for her other mates. Her heart continued to swell for the large, scarred male. And she couldn’t wait to find out just what the heck had happened at Rock Hall.
Especially since Eric had told her, Logan, and Jesse to let Kellen handle this particular mission.
She stroked Jesse’s hair and released her worry, focusing on the ties of love and pack to strengthen him. Meg and Logan found her lying next to Jesse on the bed, and Meg had to shake her to stir her to wakefulness.
Logan helped her scoot off the bed to make way for their clan healer. Meg, also a Ravager, had years of experience patching up their wounded. Her pack had been mature for close to fifteen years, and yet only now, with a queen in residence, had Meg become pregnant. She and her packmates were thrilled about the fact, the Ravagers having been without young for far too long.
As she sat next to Jesse and put her hand on his forehead and closed her eyes, she rested her other hand on the slight swell of her belly, and Kate felt her power.
“Whoa. That’s incredible.” Logan stared, wide-eyed. “I’d heard pregnant females are powerful, but hergueris breathtaking.”
Kate looked with that inner sense of hers and agreed. “Beautiful.” A Ravager giving life was precious, and the sentience inside Meg was nothing but energy and joy, lending its gifts to its mother.
Meg opened her eyes. “He’ll be fine. There was some substance in the wound that fought his healing, but we fixed it.” She patted her tummy and smiled, her gaze luminous. “I need to talk to Dom and Prime about this.”
“I’ll take you,” Logan said, as if Meg needed help.
She met Kate’s gaze and rolled her eyes, used to the males being ultra-solicitous during her pregnancy.
Kate grinned, relieved and amused. “Let him be a gentleman. It’s good for him.”
Logan sighed. “No one appreciates me.” He leaned in to give Meg a kiss on the cheek. “Thanks for healing him, Doc.”
She blushed, like all the others, not immune to Logan’s charms. “Come on. I have a few others to see to, I think.”
Logan left with Meg, and Kate sat with Jesse, stroking his hair. She snuggled into his side and kissed his chest, so glad when he sighed and hugged her closer, murmuring her name.
She lay with him, wondering about the night’s events, when Logan returned.
He moved to Jesse’s other side. “I have him.” He patted Jesse down, checking with careful hands for injury. “I knew I should have gone along.”
“I need answers,” she said.
“Go get them. I’ll watch him.” Logan snuggled into Jesse and kissed him. “I have a feeling Kellen needs you. He didn’t look so good when he brought Jesse in.”
Kate agreed. “See you soon.”
“Love you.”
She warmed and kissed Logan on her way out. “Love you too. Both of you.”
Heading down the hallway, she passed a bunch of Ravagers with questions and comments about the Rock Hall incident. By the time she’d tracked down Dom for some answers, she’d learned enough.
She found him with Eric and Kellen and a few security guards in the main conference room. Kellen paced and growled as he answered Eric’s questions. Sitting in the corner with a few other injured Ravagers was Dante, another of their berserkers.
He saw her and nodded toward Kellen then apologized when Meg snarled at him to keep still as she stitched up a cut on his cheek.
