“You too what?”

“About you,” she revealed. “I… you know.”

“You touched yourself thinking about me? Me?”

“Dana, I swear to God… You have got to start–” She stopped. “Actually, no;don’tstart realizing how sexy you are. You’ll just get a big head about it and probably attract more women like Kathy.”

“Hey, Kathy was nice,” Dana replied with a little laugh. “And you’re not just saying that because you think I’m embarrassed about whatIdid?”

“Dana, I’ve touched myself twicetodaythinking about you. Once in this bed you’re sitting on, and then once in the shower. And that’s just today.” She leaned down and kissed her quickly. “And it was good, by the way.”

“Which time?” Dana laughed.

“Every time,” she replied. “Now, let’s eat.”

“Fine, but I’m staying over tonight in case you decide to do that again; so I can watch.”

“You wish,” Samara replied as she laughed. “I got you steak and chicken. Which do you want?”

“Both, obviously,” Dana said. “It’s fancy food. I never get to eat fancy food.”

“Stick with me, then. I’ll get you fancy food all the time, if you want.”

“I’m kind of trying to here, Samara. You’re the one talking dinner and we’ll see. I’m the one asking to stay the night, remember?”

Samara pulled Dana up by both hands and kept them joined between them.

“Stay because I want you to stay,” she said. “I’ve never slept in the same bed with another woman like this, Dana. Friends, yes, but not…this.”

“I know,” Dana replied and kissed her forehead. “Want me to open the wine?”

CHAPTER 25

Samara turned, and when the light from the window hit her face, her eyes shot open. The sun was up, and they hadn’t closed the curtains the night before. At least, she was up on the tenth floor, so it wasn’t likely anyone who even knew she was here would have been able to get a photo of her lying in bed with another woman; her co-star, no less. Checking the bedside clock, she saw that it was only just after five. They were shooting the first love scene tonight and didn’t need to be on set until the afternoon. Stella and Bray were in the majority of the scenes in the film, but there were a few with just their friends, setting up for one of them to enter the scene later, so while the rest of the cast were working that morning, she and Dana wouldn’t have to be in until around one. That meant that Samara could go back to sleep. She stood slowly so as not to wake Dana and closed the curtains, trying to give them a little more darkness and some privacy, too. Then, she slipped back into bed, and Dana rolled to face her, stretching her arm out a little, telling Samara silently that she wanted her to snuggle into her side.

They had had a great dinner together, with Dana eating way too much food, or so she’d said, and they had fallen into bed and watched a movie together before Dana had passed out from exhaustion. Samara had woken her up to give her some clothes to change into and called downstairs for an extra toothbrush for her. Dana had fallen right back to sleep then, and Samara had lain there, next to her, smiling because this was a step. Falling asleep next to a woman she liked was a step. They hadn’t exactly snuggled because Dana had been out like a light, and Samara hadn’t been sure how to snuggleup next to a woman who’d been asleep facing her, so she had rolled away and fallen asleep not long after Dana, and it had been some of the best sleep she had had in a long time. She only woke up early because she was used to waking up early. She usually sat in bed and read whatever emails her team had sent or reviewed contracts or scripts. Then, she would take a shower and get dressed, leaving her hair wet for the hair team to take care of for her later. Now, she was sliding into Dana’s side and wrapping her arm around Dana’s waist, and she was still smiling because this felt good.

“Morning,” Dana said in a groggy voice.

“Morning. You can go back to sleep. It’s early, and we don’t have to be up yet.”

“It’s okay. Some woman was very demanding about her breakfast, so I got used to waking up early to go to work to make it for her and deliver it.”

Samara pinched Dana’s side, causing Dana to laugh.

“Why are you up so early?” Dana asked.

“Used to it,” she said.

“Waking at five?”

“Sometimes,” she said. “But I rolled over and realized that the curtain was open. I didn’t close it last night, and the sun was killing me already.”

“What’s the temperature?”

“Seventy-two,” she said. “Way too hot.”

Dana kissed her forehead and said, “Yes, you are.”
