Lance let out a loud growl, and we looked at him, his eyes wild. “Where the hell did they take her?”
The area soon began to fill up with coven members rushing out of the building. I looked through the crowd for faces I knew, but no such luck. Billie could really be anywhere, even the underworld.
Ty crouched to the ground, his eyes closed and hands on either side of his head. “I can’t let her down. We can’t lose another omega. We can’t lose her.”
He was going to spiral, and we didn’t have time for that. He was the only one who could find her, and we needed him strong. I walked over to him and kicked him in the shin. Not enough to cause damage but enough to get his attention.
He jumped up and glared at me. “Why?”
“Get your head in the game. If she’s knocked out, then wake her up. Use the bond to do that. She can’t sleep forever. If we can’t connect, then we’ll know she’s probably in the underworld. I don’t think there’s any magic in this world that can stop you two from telepathically communicating. Get tough if you have to. Use your alpha voice to command her to wake up.”
She wouldn’t be happy with us for using our alpha power over her, but she would have to get over it just this once. When it came to her safety, I was fine with risking her anger. I should have done that from the beginning. I wouldn’t make that mistake again.
Ty nodded quickly, licking his lips as he touched his chest, closing his eyes again. Meanwhile, Lance and Daniel remained vigilant to our surroundings as several curious coven members eyed us. Lila ran up to a couple, telling them what happened and asking if they knew anything. From the looks of things, they seemed just as clueless as us, but that didn’t mean they really were. I wasn’t sure I trusted this coven.
If they all now knew of Billie’s status, they were all suspects. Powerful witches could summon demons with a snap of their finger if they already had a connection with them. While Billie was busy arguing with Chilli and Anil, a coven member could have been gathering his or her demons in the wait.
Ty snapped his eyes open, excitement on his face. “She’s awake. I reached her.”

BILLIE
Wake up!
A faint echoing sound vibrated in my head. I was underwater, swimming in an ocean. Only I could see no sea life around me. Above me, there was only the blue sky. I tried to swim up to the surface, but it seemed so far away.
Who was telling me to wake up?
Billie, where are you?The voice continued. It sounded so familiar.
Didn’t they know I was down here? I kept swimming, kept pushing toward the surface. Toward the voice.
It’s Ty. I am commanding you to wake up. Now!
The voice now boomed in my head, and my body shook as if zapped with a bolt of power. My eyes snapped open. When were they closed? Was I asleep? I looked around at my surroundings, but the space was pitch black. Why was everything so dark? How had I gotten here?
Memories of fighting demons rammed back into my head. Then a whisper of sleep by someone powerful. Someone familiar.
Speak to me!Ty’s voice rang in my head. His tone was different. Forceful. I didn’t like it, but my mind felt compelled to answer.
“I’m here,” I said aloud. Would he hear me? I wasn’t quite sure how telepathy worked yet.
Yes, beautiful. I hear you.His voice seemed to go down an octave. Had he just used his alpha voice on me? Did I have an omega voice? Okay, not the time to wonder that. I had been kidnapped, and I had no idea where I was.
Where are you?Ty asked.
I shook my head, knowing he could not see me.I have no idea. This time I thought the words.
I felt around me. I was sitting on a bed.A bedroom, maybe? It’s dark in here, and there doesn’t seem to be any windows.
Stay connected with me. When someone comes in, try to get them to tell you where you are. Or at least get you out of that room and near a window. Lila stated that they don’t know we’re bonded.
Or I’ll just set them all on fire and get the hell out of here. I don’t even have my purse. I think they took –
The door opened, and a welcomed stream of yellow light from the hallway entered the darkened room.
Billie?Ty’s voice boomed in my head.
