She gave me an apologetic smile. “But your reasoning makes sense.”

“I’m going to throw an egg roll at you.”

“In all seriousness, just see what happens when Lance’s turn is up. Until then, just focus on the extremely sexy fae guy coming our way with a tray full of food. This is like a woman’s wet dream.” She gave a wiggle of her fingers to Daniel as he headed toward us.

He responded with a wink, and she giggled like a school girl.

She gave me wide, nervous eyes. “Should I not have done that? He is kind of your man. I’m being very inappropriate.”

I lifted a shoulder, watching as a waiter came over with a folding table for Daniel to set the large tray down on. Was she being inappropriate? I could hardly call Daniel my man. I barely knew him, and I was still deciding if I liked him.

I looked down at the table as they placed more and more dishes in front of us, Daniel explaining each one. We’d ordered a normal amount of food, but Daniel added in several additional small plates for us.

“This is too much food,” I stated, eyes getting larger as I focused on each dish.

Lila wiggled in her seat happily. “And we thank you for it all.”

Daniel bowed his head at us. “I hope you like it. And anything you don’t finish, you can take home. I know it’s a lot, but I just got excited about you trying my food. I also have dessert planned.”

I raised my brows in surprise. If I was on a diet, it would be ruined. “Are you trying to fatten me up? Me and my hips are in a good place right now, don’t ruin it for me.”

His eyes ran up my body, and the way he looked at me, as if he wanted to lick every part of me, set my nerves on fire. “I like softness and curves.”

My nipples betrayed me and hardened. I fought not to cross my arms over my chest.

Daniel lifted a brow, a grin spreading on his face. Heat flushed my cheeks. Damn him, he noticed everything.

Lila picked up her chopsticks, already reaching over to put one of the dishes on her plate. “You should join us, Daniel.”

He looked away from me and gave his smooth smile to Lila. “I wouldn’t want to impose on girl’s night.”

She shook her head and pointed to the seat beside me. “You aren’t imposing. At least sit for a while.”

Daniel sat down, and the other waiter removed the folding tray and left. Sitting next to him, I got a whiff of his minty ocean scent, and my body tensed.

“So,” Lila began, looking too excited. “How have you two been getting along?”

Daniel grabbed my plate and began filling it with food.

I tried my best to keep my face neutral and not look impressed by this move, but it was kind. Daniel was nothing if not attentive.

“I think we get along well,” Daniel began. “What do you think, princess?” He placed my very full plate down in front of me, eyes expectant.

I shrugged and looked over to Lila, whose eyes were practically glazed over as she looked at the two of us. She would definitely be in heaven if we switched positions. I picked up my chopsticks.

Lila smacked her lips in response to a bite of food. “This is heaven. I think you have been the perfect gentleman. Do you ever make mistakes or, I don’t know, mess up your hair?” She gave me a wink. I knew she was trying to help.

He smirked, crossing his arms, and I already knew he was going to say something inappropriate. “There’s one thing I like to do that messes my hair up.” His bass heavy voice dipped even lower, clenching my core.

Of course, he would say something that wouldn’t get too serious.

Lila leaned into the table. “Oooh, what’s that?”

I cut my eyes at her. She damn well knew what he was insinuating. And the way he said it, with that low orgasm-inducing voice, made it very clear. “Please don’t answer that, Daniel.”

He shivered, his eyes squinting. “Say my name again. You don’t say it much, and I love to hear it.”

I rolled my eyes. I refused to give in to his sexy antics. I practically raised my fist in the air to further support my inner vow. “You are really too much. Does this work on other women?”
