Epilogue

almost a year later

Hunter rockedhis body around Serena’s slighter frame, wanting to touch her everywhere. The nightclub lights flashed and flickered in a random, disorienting pattern that didn’t match the heavy bass being spun by the DJ at all.

It was chaotic, messy, and totally freeing. It had been a crazy year, with him out of the country a few times on extended missions and Serena’s art being more and more in demand. This was their first break in months and they’d come back to Vegas for their one year dating anniversary. Ten months after their last visit.

Ten months since their first and only threesome.

It made Hunter think about whether he’d be willing to share Serena again like that. Maybe at some point. She’d taken him to a sex club Quinn had recommended in Los Angeles for his birthday, and that had been incredible.

They’d screwed like bunnies that night when they got back to their hotel room.

Much the same way they’d celebrated this morning in the shower.

“Happy anniversary, beautiful,” he said in her ear. “What do you want for Christmas this year?”

She whirled in his arms, a naughty look on her face. His cock thickened. Yeah, he’d share her. If she wanted it. He’d give her anything she desired, he was sure of that now. Her fingers tangled with his as she bounced to the beat, her hips not-so-accidentally sliding against his. Her eyes were shining.

His heart raced. Now was as good a time as any.

Once again they were sliding down a rabbit hole, but the first time had worked out.

“I’m not sure yet,” she yelled over the music. “I’ve got an idea, but it might be kind of crazy!”

He hauled her back against him. “I like crazy.”

She threw her arms around his neck and leapt up his body, winding her legs around his waist. Tonight she was wearing shorts, not a skirt, so she wasn’t flashing anyone.

He spun her around as she cupped his face, pressing her lips softly against his. And her next words were so quiet, he almost didn’t hear them.

“What was that?” His heart hammered in his chest as he stopped turning.

She gazed down at him, her face glistening, her smile wide. “Marry me.”

But that was his line. He threw his head back and laughed. “Seriously?”

She shrieked as he tossed her over his shoulder and headed for the exit. The bouncer stopped them to make sure that Serena was being carried out of the club willingly, a question that only made his girlfriend double over in laughter when Hunter set her down.

“Yes, I’m fine, thank you,” she said between giggles, wiping her eyes. “It’s just that I proposed to my boyfriend here and instead of saying yes, he decided to go all caveman and carry me off.”

The bouncer gave her a broad grin. “Well, honey, if he doesn’t say yes, I certainly would.”

Hunter growled and picked Serena up again. “Oh, I’m going to say yes.”

She wiggled against his shoulder. “You are?”

“Again I ask…seriously?”

“This is a bizarre conversation to be having while you carry me over your shoulder, baby.”

“This is a bizarre conversation, period.” He set her down once the elevator car arrived. Then he loomed over her, crowding her back against the glass panel that overlooked the lobby. “What part of,the guy does the askingdid you forget?”

She blinked up at him. “You were going to…” Her lips parted into a silentoh.

“I know you like to march to the beat of your own drum, beautiful, but I had a whole speech planned.”

Her eyes got wider. “I want that for Christmas! The whole speech!”
