There’s a knock on the door, and I push off the sofa to get it.
“Let me get the door,” I say, taking long strides, pushing my black leather boots into the old faded green carpet.
“Okay, I’ll get some paper plates,” Claudette yells, pushing off the sofa.
She runs into the small kitchen as I walk over to the door. I open the door, take the box, and pull out a bill from my jeans, handing it to the young man.
“Thanks,” the young man says, nodding.
I close the door and walk back to the loveseat, placing the pizza box on the coffee table.
“Oh my god, that smells so good,” Claudette squeaks, placing the paper plates and napkins on the table.
“Yes, it really does,” I say, nodding.
I fall onto the sofa, opening the box, sliding a slice out and placing it on the paper plate.
“Here you go, Princess,” I say, handing her the plate.
“Oh, I’m so hungry,” Claudette says, looking at me as she takes the slice of pizza from me.
I slide back on the sofa, taking a bite of the pizza.
“Oh yeah, it is good,” I say, lowering my right eyelid.
“Kon Kon, you’re a brat,” Claudette huffs, shaking her head.
“Uh, ah, no, you are,” I taunt, trying to control my smile.
Claudette takes another bite of the pizza, rolling her eyes. Finally, we finished off two slices and the beer.
“Oh my, that hit the spot. Do you want another beer,” Claudette asks, scooting off the sofa?
“Yes, please,” I say, nodding, taking a napkin to wipe my fingers.
She returns with two more Corona’s, and I’m feeling relaxed and happy. I don’t remember when I felt so happy, if ever in my life. Once I did my rite of passage into becoming an adult Vampire Prince, I started working on the family businesses.
I take a long pull of the beer, closing my eyes.
“Would you like to watch a movie with me,” Claudette asks, reaching for the control?
“Yes, I do,” I say, nodding, watching her turn on the TV.
“What would you like to see,” Claudette asks, turning to look at me, raising her eyebrow.
She smiles at me tilts her head watching me.
“I don’t ever watch TV; I think that I would like you to pick a movie,” I say, lifting my shoulders.
“Yeah, I bet. You do look like a busy important dude,” Claudette scoffs, rolling her eyes.
“What did you say? Come here, Princess, you need to pay for that,” I growl, pulling her into my arms.
I move my hands all over her, tinkling her to see if she’s ticklish.
Yes, she is because she rolls and twists, trying to get away from my fingers. I roll her onto her back; then I pen her arms up above hers.
I stare into her eyes; the next moment, I see the heat flare calling me like a fucking moth to the light.
