The next day Sofia Rose walks into the bank, the office is full of the Saint’s Grove’s citizens. She looks over at the clerks at the counter busy with their customer. She nods, smiles, and continues to walk towards her office in the back.

She passes her assistant office on the right and stops. She looks in to see if Liza Miller is working. She raises her right eyebrow, narrowing her clear violet eyes. The silver specks flash brightly.

“What are you doing? I told you to take the day off!”

Sofia Rose holds onto the laptop in her hands and starts to tap her right foot on the tile. Her eyebrow raises even higher as she waits for her friend to respond.

Liza looks up from her the screen and smiles brightly. She moves her head to the right. The motion swiftly tosses her long brown hair over her shoulder as she pushes back the chair.

“Ah…Sofia! I want to help you figure this out!”

She walks over to Sofia and stands in front of her, wide-eyed, nervously clasping her hands. She looks over at the bank area to watch the clerks, and then she leans in closer to Sofia’s ear.

“Sofia, I wanted to help you and I’m so happy that I did. There is an email from corporate that states that Mr. Bartz will be arriving today to do an audit!”

Sofia Rose inhales sharply. The color drains from her face, and she closes her beautiful clear violet eyes.

“Oh my.”

“Yes!”

Liza steps back, crossing her arms under her full breasts, nodding. Her warm brown eyes look troubled, red, and tired.

“That’s exactly what I said! I can’t believe it! It’s like if someone intentionally instigated this to get you! Oh yeah! Me too! In trouble!”

Liza raises her right hand up to her chest to point her finger at herself. Her face is flushed and her eyes bright. She shakes her head. With her eyes wide, she looks at Sofia Rose. She whispers, leaning in close, “What are we going to do?”

Sofia Rose narrows her eyes, and glances over at the clerks. She then turns around and walks down the hall into her office.

Liza follows her. She anxiously looks around, and over her shoulder.

Sofia Rose walks over to her desk and places the laptop on the top. She turns to look at Liza, raising her right eyebrow. She places her right hand on her waist, and then closes her eyes.

“Really Liza, you’re so dramatic! What the hell am I going to do? I’m going to figure it out! I’m not going to give up and not fight for what I want! I know something odd is happening, but I’m going to figure out who is causing this fiasco!”

Sofia Rose pulls out her black leather armchair and falls into the chair, gracefully crossing her legs. She leans back, raises her arms, and gathers up her dark long locks to twirl them around into a tight bun. She looks at Liza, and then shrugs.

“Let’s get to work. I will be ready to confront Mr. Bartz!”

Damn it! That incredible looking man that detonated my senses and heart will be here to talk to me, but not the type of talk that I would have loved!

The downtown district is beautiful and silent in the early hours of the morning.

The night is dark and the moon is full, illuminating the street below. The building is known for its distinctive architecture and it is located in front of the waterfront in the Louisville business district.

The Bluegrass State, Kentucky is well known for the famous Churchill Downs racetrack, which is home to the annual Kentucky Derby. Seth McKenzie looks out of the office window that runs the entire length of his office. He watches the full moon and the stars in the beautiful night.

He leans back and closes his eyes. They move rapidly behind his eyelids. His breathing grows deeper. The deep anger that he feels turns into a strong deep rumble from deep within his chest, and then he releases a loud deep growl.

He opens his beautiful blue-gray eyes. His face is flushed, and his upper lip turned up in a snarl. All of a sudden he moves. He throws back his right arm and pitches the whiskey glass at the wall.

“Fuck!”

He moves his huge hands up to run through his silky black hair and stops at his nape. He massages the tension in his neck with his long strong fingers, closing his eyes while he did.
