I chuckle, though I have no idea what the hell she’s talking about. I’m pretty sure my brother would never have an OnlyFans of his own, as he’s pretty discreet with his endeavors. Not even my parents know his true preference. At one time, they’dsuspected, but Bianca’s presence never allowed for the truth to manifest.
“This doesn’t have to be a big deal,” Elliot says.
“Not a big deal? How many times have I asked you to mess around just a little, and you’ve said no? All the while, you’ve been chowing down on Jordan’s pork n’ beans!”
I never realized how funny Bianca was until now.
“I didn’t want to dishonor you,” Elliot says, which is hilarious.
“So you chose to dishonorhim?” Bianca hisses. “Here, it’ll look better on you than it ever did on me.” She throws her engagement ring at Jordan’s feet.
“Bianca, calm down,” Elliot urges.
“Are you joking? I catch you cheating on me—with a man—and you’re tellingmeto calm down?”
“I…I made a mistake…”
“Did it ever happen in our apartment?”
“No, I wouldn’t do that to you.”
She shakes her head sadly from side to side.
“I was going to stop as soon as we got married,” Elliot insists.
“You mean after you trapped me?” Bianca snaps.
“Jesus Christ, I’m so fucking sorry. You deserve so much better.”
Jordan leaves, and I wonder if I should, too.
“Does Chewbarka know?” Bianca says, her voice trembling.
Yeah, I’m totally not leaving. This is better than any reality television show, that’s for damn sure.
“The dog?”
“Our dog! Our fur baby.”
A chuckle escapes my throat.
“No, he doesn’t know.”
“Thank Jesus for that.”
“I never meant to ruin your life,” Elliot says. “I feel sick. Disgusted with myself. And I do love you, Bianca. I always have and I will until the day I take my last breath. But there’s this part of me that won’t die.”
“Maybe it was never meant to die,” Bianca says softly.
“That’s easy for you to say. You’re not from…never mind.”
“No, you’re right. I’m not from a legacy line that has expectations of me. In fact, I’m pretty sure everyone is amazed I made it through high school without getting pregnant.”
“I’m sorry, Bianca. Is there any way I can make this up to you?”
“Only time will tell. Until then, I need you to take care of Chewbarka until I get on my feet.”
“Wait, you’re not thinking about leaving, are you?”
