“Is Ms K okay?”

“She’s awake and getting better. We’ll be back to pick her up.”

He nods. I call Patrick.

“Morning, boss. How’s Ms K?”

“She’s good. I’m going to be out all day today. Ping me if anything urgent comes up.” Because right now, I have one last important thing to take care of. I read the text from Bruce again.

Bruce: We have him, and we’ve cleaned out his devices of all the pictures. He sent it to two of his friends. Working on that.

Me: Thank you. She just woke up and told me he mailed copies to her and threatened to send them to her dad, unless she broke up with me.

Bruce: Motherfucker, he’s getting destroyed.

Me: Where is he?

Bruce: Basement ofthebuilding.

Me: I’ll be there once Jordan and Andrea get here. I don’t want to leave her alone.

Bruce: No rush, he’s not going anywhere.

Me: Thanks, brother.

Chapter 56

Daniel

I pass through the doors and head towards the basement. The closer I get, the angrier I get. Opening the door, I find Teni handcuffed to the chair. Arrogance and entitlement drip off him. Bruce is seated across from him, a soft glare on his face that I know is a false pretense. Clearly, Teni thinks it gives him an edge, but he’s grossly mistaken.

Stepping further into the room, Teni sees me and scoffs. “What the fuck is this nonsense man?” he shouts at me.

I get closer to him. My glare isn’t pretense; it’s fucking blatant and clearly shocks him.

“Why the fuck am I here?” Agitation drips from his tone. Bruce scoffs.

I move to the back table and pick up the taser that’s lying there and grab a chair, now seated facing him.

“First of, you are going to tell me the name and address of your friends you sent the pictures too.”

“What pictures?”

A sad chuckle escapes me.

“You think you are here by mistake?”

“Yes. I didn’t take any pictures, and I certainly didn’t send pictures to anyone. You have this all wrong. Anu took those pictures. She wanted to be wild,” he sneers.

Motherfucker. I immediately turned the taser on him. His body jerks and I continue.

“Stop,” Bruce quietly says.

I stop.

He’s drained and panting.

“Now, let’s start again,” I say in a calm tone, though the rage behind my calmness isn’t hidden.
