The door shut softly behind her, and just like that, the cabin was theirs. They both exhaled.

"Let's go to sleep."

Chapter thirty-two

Title: Has anyone seen Gavin or Ebony?

They were both here when we first got here in the lobby and then **POOF** they vanished. It's been days now. Are we sure they aren't lost in the snow somewhere?

u/CaffeineAndViolence:

I haven’t seen them either. I'm still reeling from the fact that they were kissing on the bus.

u/NoThoughtsJustDrama:

What?! No, they weren't!

u/CrabQueen03:

I heard that too.

u/CaffeineAndViolence

I swear to God they were and I nearly choked on my drink.

u/WhereIsTheLie:

I did see them holding hands when they walked onto the bus.

u/CrabQueen03:

Yeah, I saw that too.

u/ItsAlwaysTheQuietOnes

WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY?

u/NoThoughtsJustDrama:

I told y’all. Go ahead, tell me again how they’re “just friends.” I’ll wait.

Chapter thirty-three

Opening her eyes, Ebony stared up at the unfamiliar wooden beams overhead. Oh yeah, after hours and hours of travel they finally got to the resort. Ebony turned her head and looked over to Gavin. He was in his favorite position, face down, strangling his poor pillow into submission. Minutes ticked by as she stared at his back rise and fall.

Carefully, she lifted her hand and checked her watch. It was late but she felt awake. Using every core muscle she had Ebony silently sat up and slipped from the bed. The large A-frame window at the end of the room called to her. The hazy glow emanating from it cast a dim light throughout the room. From the bed, she could see the tops of the trees in the distance but the closer she got, the expanse of the snow-covered land filled her view.

It was beautiful yet strange. Bright yet dark, it felt as if she was in another world, not just states away. With the black sky contrasting against the endless white it felt desolate and empty. Nothing like the green lush terrain back home. It was as if time stood perfectly still here. The windless night left the trees motionless, like hundreds of soldiers frozen in their spot.

Ebony ran a hand through her hair, and twisted her lips in annoyance. Her curls were a wild mess. She had been too tired earlier to try and find her bonnet in her bag.

Turning from the window, she stopped, her breath catching.

Thelow fire in the fireplace cast a faint orange glow, its light barely touching the edge of the bed, partly illuminating the figure sitting at its edge. Gavin's luminous blue eyes stared back at her in the dark.

"How long have you been awake?" she asked.
