Chapter Forty-Two

Axe woke with his nose infused in Leanna’s hair and his head sharing the same pillow with her. His arms were around her, and his cock, which should have been tired and worn out, pressed hard against her hips.

He’d lost track of time and the count, but somehow, it didn’t matter. They made love through the entire night, alternating between hot heat and dozing off in bliss.

His sweet Leanna and her moist, wet sheath. She’d taken him in, all the way. No barriers and roadblocks, and he knew with every conviction in his heart that she was where he’d dock his cock and heart for the rest of his life.

He loved her, and he’d proposed to her.

In the heat of the moment.

Balls deep in her sweet honey.

He blinked, trying to remember if she’d accepted.

Truth be told, it hadn’t mattered when she tilted her pelvis and his penis happened to plunge into her hotbed of gushing lava.

But now, in the light of the morning?

He jolted upright.

Morning! What time was it?

Was Soledad coming down the stairs looking for breakfast?

What about Carmelita?

“Axe, what happened?” Leanna rubbed her eyes and stretched, yawning.

His cell phone rang, and she shot out of bed.

“Oh my God! Carmelita,” she yelped. “Where is she? Did we miss her?”

He reached for his phone. “I’ve got this. It’s Sam.”

“Answer it.”

He put his finger to his lips, shushing her, and then swiped to answer. “Hello? Detective? Any news?”

“May I speak to Leanna Rivera?” Sam’s voice boomed too loud in the morning.

“Sure.” He put it on speaker and passed the phone to Leanna.

“I’m here,” she said. “How’s my daughter?”

“She’s with me at the precinct. I’ll put her on the line.”

“Carmelita? Are you okay?” Leanna asked, covering her mouth with her hand. She bounced on the bed, still naked with all her deliciousness on hand.

Axe scurried to put on his clothes, because Soledad would be up and wanting to speak to Carmelita.

“I’m okay,” Carmelita said in a bored voice. “Can you believe they gave me the insulin shots? Said I couldn’t inject myself?”

“Sometimes it’s nice to have someone else take care of you,” Leanna said. “Where are you right now?”

“They released me from the hospital, and I’m eating breakfast with the detective. Are you guys coming to spring me out of this joint?”

“Of course, we just woke up, but we’re on our way.”
