I can never go back to who I was before. That’s the last thought I have before I fall into a slumber so deep, I’m almost late for the kids opening their presents.

As for Cove, Rafe, and Tylan, I don’t know how to be around them now, so I do my best to avoid them.

I haven’t answered their question. Why them. And I won’t.It’s one thing sleeping with them. It’s another sleeping with them and being in love with them.

Chapter Seventeen

Adalynn

––––––––

Inearly jump out ofmy skin when I bump into Ines.Christmas lunch has been had, and the kids loved all their presents.I went slowly out of my mind being in their company, red-faced the whole time. They, of course, found me amusing.

And now everyone would doze off into the night and head back to their own lives first thing in the morning. That’s another holiday season wrapped.Yeah, I won’t be forgetting this one.Ever.

I also don’t want to think about Cove, Rafe, and Tylan. They’ll think of me as a seasonal fling, and I’ll be forgotten before they’ve even driven out of Crystal Cry Ranch.I should do the same.At least I’m not a virgin anymore. Then why do I feel like crying?

“Adalynn,” Ines says, and she’s got that look on her face again. The one where she knows something damning about me.Ines’s smile is too big.Yes, she’s got something new on me.

Oh no.What more can there be?

“You should finish reading this since that’s where you got your idea from,” she says and shoves the book against my chest.“I found the ending quite enlightening.”

With that, she turns around and leaves.

“Happy reading. You’re not going to be as smug as you are when you’re done.”

I glance at the book she shoved at me.It’s my own romance novel, the one I tried to finish, but I kept getting interrupted by three god-tier handsome men.

Still, my stomach curls with foreboding.

I lock myself in my closet bedroom, sit down, and read the last part of it.

Oh.Oh.Oh!
