"Mommy, Daddy! Look what Uncle Luke got me!" He shows off his present—a volcano science set. "He said he'll show me how it works after dinner. Is that OK?" he asks with his signature puppy dog eyes.

Lucas walks back to the dining room with Laura in tow, who's concentrating hard on one of those puzzle boxes with the ball bearings. "Hold on. I said only if Mommy has some baking soda and vinegar to spare," Lucas says, a twinkle in his eye.

"Well, who am I to get in the way of science!" I reply. Lucas has been insisting on teaching the kids about science from as early an age as possible, which has resulted in alotof science-related birthday and Christmas presents. And many random presents in between those special days.

"Oooh, Laura, what's that?" Cora coos as my little girl makes her way to her favorite spot at the dining table, brows furrowed in total concentration.

"A puzzle box thingie," she murmurs in response.

Ezra hugs me from behind, and we both enjoy the scene before us. Our happy family, growing larger and larger as time goes by with both little kids and partners. I place my hands over his and lean my head back into his neck.

"I love you, Ezra Taylor," I say softly.

"I love you too, Quinn Taylor," he says softly in return, kissing the top of my head.
