As Cole stepped inside, Olivia fixed her pencil skirt, pulling it down her legs. “Hey, Cole.”

My cousin waved. “Hey, how’s your first day going?”

She looked at me and smiled. “Good. I’ll give the two of you some space. If you need me, Drake, call my cell.”

I stared at her thick ass, licking my lips, until she disappeared through the door.

“Does Tate know you’re trying to fuck his sister again?”

I shook my head and cleared my throat. “Come with me. We need to do the retinal and hand scans. Just in case something happens to me.”

“This place is better guarded than Fort Knox.” Cole followed me out of the office and down the hall. “No one is getting into your building.”

I turned left at the corner, my pace unwavering. “An intruder made it to the second floor last week. The guards subdued him before he could take anything. They’re getting close, Cole. It’s only a matter of time. The passcode changes every ten minutes. I’m doing everything I can to keep us on lockdown.”

He tugged at the ends of his short hair and whistled nervously. “How did he get into the building without security noticing?”

“Stole a badge from a guard.”

I stopped at the door on my right and pressed my palm to the panel on the wall. “Good morning, boss,” Lovelace said, and the door clicked open. “Have you remembered to take your vitamins today?”

I rolled my eyes. “Not yet.”

“Would you like me to schedule a reminder?” Lovelace asked.

“No, I will remember.”

As we entered the room, I tipped my head at the massive supercomputer in front of us. Endless rows of data storage devices lit up the room, blinking.

“This is Lovelace. Part of her, anyway. Some of the AI/DL data is on the cloud. The rest of the software is on data servers. Even if The Lucaya Group could breach this room, it wouldn’t do them any good.”

I shut the door behind us and locked it with my fingerprint. Cole’s eyes swept over the wall with dozens of flat-screen monitors. Numbers moved on them at an impressive pace, changing every second.

Cole was an aerospace engineer and graduated from one of the top military schools in the country. I hired him to help me with a new aircraft I’d been trying to get off the ground. But Cole was flexible, willing to assist with whatever I needed.

I steered him to a glass room with scanners that shone red lasers on the walls. “I can’t trust anyone. Only family and TheKnights. I have the media up my ass, the government breathing down my neck, and lunatics who think I’m trying to play God want me stopped.”

“People are afraid of AI.”

“They’ve been using it for years and don’t even know it.” I laughed as we entered the glass room. “People are so fucking stupid.”

I stopped at a computer with a monitor that spanned the entire desk. “If anything happens to me, I will activate the Battle King protocol. Lovelace will lock down all of my company’s buildings and homes. You’re the only person other than Tate with access to override the system.”

“What happens when you activate the Battle King protocol?”

“Anyone in the building at the time won’t be able to leave. But it’s for their safety.”

“Can the police get inside?”

I shook my head. “No one in or out. So, I need you to pay attention.” My fingers glided across the keyboard. “I’m going to take a retinal and hand scan. You will also need the deactivation codes.”

Cole moved beside me. “What are you not telling me, Drake?”

My jaw clenched at the thought of what was about to come. “I’m preparing you for the worst-case scenario. In a few days, I’m leaving for Tech Wars in New Mexico. You’re in charge while I’m gone.”
