He nods, then waves a hand at his brother. “Thank you for taking care of him. And thanks for getting hold of Daddy John. I was so worried until he called.”
“No problem. I hope you don’t mind; I saved your number just in case something like this happens again.”
Felix hands me his keys, and I unlock his door for him. He’s still in his little headspace, and I’m still determined to prove I can take care of him, big or small. “Why don’t you go pull out some pajamas, and I’ll meet you inside, sweetheart?”
“Okay, Daddy,” Felix replies easily, walking through the open door and following my command as if we’ve done this a hundred times before.
Once I’m alone with Adrian, I’m half afraid the muscular hockey player is about to punch me in the face for bossing around his little brother. But when I turn to face him, there’s a sparkle in his blue eyes and a small smile on his lips. Even though Adrian DeLuca is a muscular guy, I can easily see the resemblance between the two brothers. It’s something about the structure of their faces.
“What’s that?” Adrian points at the gift bag in my hand.
“Cotton candy,” I reply, peering down at the bag. “I had an idea come to mind earlier, and I wanted to surprise Felix with something.”
A wide smile spreads across his face. “I’ve always liked you, Clay,” Adrian says. “My brother talked about you often throughout the years.”
I blink. “He what?” He did?
While Adrian is chuckling at the shock on my face now, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be if he knew just how much I’ve villainized myself throughout the years.
Adrian claps me on the back. “He’s always had a crush on you, but I can see the feelings must be mutual. Please take good care of my baby brother.” And with those parting words, he leaves me completely flabbergasted with my mouth hanging open.
Felix is in his room, holding up that cute sailboat onesie he wore to the club. “This one, Daddy. Sailboats.”
I chuckle. “Can Daddy tell you a secret?” I ask, reaching for his pjs. I rub calming circles on the small of his back.
Felix nods eagerly.
Fuck. His little side is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. “I have a whole collection of toy sailboats at my place. I make model sailboats for fun. I even have LEGO models, too. I’ll show you someday soon. Would you like that?”
Felix cheers, and I bark out a laugh when he does this cute, wiggly little dance.
“Okay, okay, little Fe. We need to get you ready for bed. Can I draw you a bath?”
Felix blinks, studying me for a long moment. Finally, when I’m sure he’s about to say no, he agrees. I know he’s in his little space right now, but I need to make sure he understands he can stop me at any point in time. “If you feel uncomfortable, all you have to do is tell me no. Or stop. Or red. Okay, Fe? I won’t ever push you to do anything.”
Felix nods.
I walk into his bathroom and fill up his tub. Spotting a bottle of bubbles, I add it, feeling playful. Not only do I hope he likes the bubbles, but it will help keep his beautiful body hidden. I want my boy happy and relaxed, not yanked out of his little headspace. “Okay, Fe. Bath is ready.”
He walks into the bathroom, and his whole face lights up when he sees the bubbles growing in the tub. I undress him slowly, taking care not to startle him. By the time I pull down his undies, he’s half hard, but I ignore the tempting appendage. Some littles don’t like to fool around while in this headspace, and that is a conversation for adult Felix. When I help lift him into the tub, he stares at me in shock, but soon enough, that look of shock is replaced with giddy joy as he splashes around in the bath and giggles while I clean him.
I make quick, efficient work of cleaning him with the washrag and soaping him down. All the while my heart sings, happy he’s trusting me, of all people, to do this.
Someday, I’ll buy him some fun bath toys and join him. I like the idea of making my boyfriend happy by showing him that his Daddy knows how to have fun, too.Wait, boyfriend? Oh god, did I just imagine Felix as my boyfriend? And how do I make it real?
Once Felix is dry and in his pajamas, I press a kiss to the top of his head, inhaling his cotton-candy scent, and wondering what it would be like to kiss him on the lips. Felix crawls into his bed, reaching for a stuffed animal and hugging it to his side. “I’ll tuck you in, sweet Fe. Then I’ll lock the door behind me. Okay?”
Felix shakes his head. “No, Daddy. Please stay the night. Cuddle with me.” I can tell Felix isn’t completely little anymore, and it warms my heart that big Felix wants me just as much as little Felix does.
He glances at me again and pats the spot next to him. “Stay.” He bats his lashes, looking up at me with mock innocence.
Well, fuck. Who am I to deny the boy?
