“I love you too, Cole. I never expected to find a pack, but you—all of you—are so right for me.”

“You were made for us.” He pulls me closer. “And now you’re mine, Faye. My bonded omega.”

Everything feels like it’s falling into place, but I still have two more alphas to bond to complete our family.

“How’re you feeling, brother?” Ren asks. “It’s the longest you’ve been apart since bonding.”

We ran into each other after his seminar finished while I was on patrol.

“I don’t feel searing pain anymore,” I admit. “Obviously, I’d rather be with her, though.” I spot an alpha dropping a candy wrapper a few feet from a trash bin and roar, “Hey, you! Pick it up!”

The alpha jumps before rushing to pick up his trash, scowling as he throws it in the trash can.

Ren chuckles as we watch the alpha stumble away. “A few weeks ago, that would have made you start a fight.”

Since bonding with Faye, even the usual things that piss me off don’t bother me as much. My motorcycle has a flat, which would have been enough to send me spiraling into a bad mood for days, but I simply shrugged it off. Feeling Faye’s closeness, approval, and calmness makes everything so much better.

I feel Ren’s gaze stray to Faye’s mark on my neck.

“It won’t be long until you have one of your own,” I tell him.

“We’ll see.”

“Come on, don’t be like that, man. She’s crazy about you. You justgether, you know?”

Ren has always had low self-esteem, but it’s obvious to everyone else that Faye is mad about him. When she first came into our lives, I was overcome with jealousy by simply watching them together.

I pull a protein shake from my backpack that I always carry when on duty then freeze. A sense of overwhelming pleasure sweeps through me, giving me a semi. What the fuck? I like chocolate cookie shakes, but not that much. It takes a second for me to realize it’s not my emotions I’m feeling.

“What?” Ren’s eyes shift anxiously beneath his glasses. “Is it Faye?”

My pulse spikes. I feel her happiness, her elation, her joy…

“Damon?” Ren presses. “What’s wrong?”

The sensation mellows a little, giving way to something else. There’s something intermingled in our bond. Another presence is there. I can’t feel it directly… It’s just out of reach, but it’s warm, familiar, and protective.

Cole.

“Faye and Cole bonded.” There’s no other explanation for how I can feel him.

“Shit,” Ren groans. “Laz…”

I frown. “What’s he got to do with it?”

“He messaged me to say he was going to surprise Cole and Faye at the beach house. Something about interior design.” Ren grabs his phone and tries calling. “He’s not answering.”

I smirk. “Well, this is about to get interesting.”

Who knows how Cole will react when the pack clown crashes his bonding.
