“You have to turn your head after I lick your neck so I can get to the lime,” he yells in my ear over the chanting. The whole bar joins in the countdown before I feel Colin’s tongue caress my neck. I realize I’m still staring at the back of the bar when I feel his hand wrap around my chin, pulling my mouth to him. This time he takes the lime out squeezing it between his teeth before spitting it at the bartender. Leaning back down he gives me a quick kiss before lifting me off the bar to loud cheering.
“I’m sorry. I forgot to turn my head,” I yell over the crowd into his ear. Ernie hands me back my phone.
“Next time, can we wait until after I’ve eaten something before we do that. I think I’m slightly drunk. Besides, if you just want me to lick the salt off your skin, we can do that back at my apartment.” My face burns bright red as he leads me back through the cheering crowd to a table. Burgers show up quickly at our table.
“Damn, boy! I should have told him you just wanted single shots, not the doubles they usually do.” Ernie grins at him, biting into his burger. That means he just consumed six shots of tequila. Holy damn! No wonder his eyes look a little glazed.
“Ya think? I hope you can drive a stick, Maggie,” he says, looking over at me. “You’ll have to figure out how to get me home before I pass out. Did I also just drink a beer?” He is holding up an empty pint glass.
“Come on sweetheart, we’ll help you get him into the car. His doorman will help you get him upstairs if you need him.” Pulling Colin up, we walk through the pub to more cheers as men slap him on the back. The guys help me get Colin strapped into the passenger side of the car before I give them each a hug.
“I really enjoyed getting to see the house. Hopefully we didn’t interrupt your day too much” I say, standing by the driver’s door.
“It was a real pleasure to meet you, Maggie. It’s nice to finally see what all the fuss is about. I think he’s right, you are something special.” He said that about me? “Don’t worry about Colin, he’ll sleep it off in a couple of hours. He’ll be right as rain for tonight.” With another hug goodbye, I slowly drive us back to Colin’s condo.
When I finally manage to get Colin into his condo, he’s still upright. He throws off his shoes by the door before sliding out of his pants.
“Whoa, do you always take off your pants when you get drunk?” I ask.
“Always,” he slurs before face-planting on the couch. Okay, I’m not complaining. I pull the blanket over him as he rolls back over on his back. He’s also a very fast drunk. He pulls me down on top of him until I straddle his erection. “Mmm, you’re warm.” I’m also very turned on by the log pressing between my legs. This is bad, I need to get up. The harder I push to get up, the tighter his arms wrap around me.
“Colin, you need to let me up.” It’s no use. Like an alligator, he rolls me over so I’m on my side between him and the back of the couch. His arms are wrapped around me in a vice, somehow having pulled me under the blanket.
“Not ever letting you go. This is your fault.” I assume he is talking about the tequila shots. Before I can try one more time to wiggle out, he licks my neck before starting to snore. It takes another thirty minutes before he finally relaxes his grip enough I can wiggle out from the couch.
Pulling my phone from my pocket, I flop into the chair next to the couch, kicking off my shoes. Ernie has shot not only pictures but video of the body shots. I pick the one where he’s licking salt off my neck to post.
Standing, I check that Colin is still breathing before walking over to his reading area. Choosing a book, I slide into the chair. He’s right, this is the perfect place. It takes me only a couple of minutes to fall asleep. I wake to the feel of lips brushing mine. My eyes open to find Colin kneeling in front of me.
“How are you feeling?” I ask, sitting up. “Did you just kiss me awake?” He smiles his lazy smile at me.
“I’m good. I threw most of the tequila up. Already brushed my teeth.” He’s quick to add when I screw my face up at him. “Except for the bitch of a headache trying to force itself out of my skull, I’m ready for round two. Have you ever done body shots before?”
“No, that was my first time. I assume you’ve done it a million times?”
“No, that was my first also. Never appealed to me until now. Have you checked your Instagram? I’ve already been called into the senior partner's office on Monday about it. Apparently it’s a big hit here.”
I sit up even straighter. “Oh my God, Colin. I’m so sorry. I should have thought about that.” He laughs before rocking up to his feet.
“You know, it was worth it. Even if I get fired, which I won’t, I’d do it all again. I got to lick you, drink tequila and stick my tongue down your throat hunting for a lime. What’s to regret?” Son of a bitch! I’m falling in love with this guy!
“We should probably start getting dressed for tonight. This should be interesting. You can have my room, I moved what I need into the guest bedroom.” He takes my hand, pulling me toward the hallway. “I’ll meet you back here in a little while. I’ll show you around some more, minus the tequila, tomorrow before you have to go.” He leaves me at the door to his bedroom before disappearing down the hall.
“Oh bless me, Jesus!” Colin exclaims when I reappear in the living room forty-five minutes later. I’ve borrowed a dress from one of the other teachers for the party. It’s ruby red with rhinestone straps.
It drapes just above my bottom in an elegant silhouette. I borrowed a set of rhinestone drop earrings from Izzy, deciding against a necklace since the material bunches right above my breasts. I liked the look of naked skin. Colin whistles when I spin for him. “You look absolutely stunning, beautiful.”
“You clean up pretty nicely yourself.” He slides off one shoulder of his tux jacket to reveal a pair of Christmas suspenders. I clap my hands together. “Those are perfect!” I grab my clutch off of the table as he leads me out the door. His hand rests comfortably on my bare lower back as we wait for the elevator.
“I can’t guarantee I can keep my hands off of you in this dress tonight.” We step into the elevator. He’s had the car brought around for us.
“You look very nice this evening, Miss Emerson,” the doorman says as he holds the car door open. “Have a wonderful time tonight.” I feel a little like a princess going to the ball. Colin has assured me it’s nothing quite that grand, but it's hard not to get excited.
When we get to the party, Colin ushers us up to an indoor atrium at the top of the building. There is a buffet set out with a full bar and a dance floor with a band at one end.
Colin introduces me to the senior partners, whispering to me what skeletons are hiding in their closets after each one. I learn who is having an affair, who’s roving hands to watch out for and who has too many corporate toys for the amount of taxes he files.
“How do you know all of this?” I whisper to him as we cross the room to visit with more of his colleagues.
