He just watched me for a few long moments, his eyes swirling with emotion.
“Do you want to be my boyfriend?” I asked. “I know we’re kind of doing this backwards because we’re already married, but we weren’t even friends when that happened. I want to give our relationship a chance. Do you?”
Waiting for his answer seemed like an eternity.
“I do,” he finally said.
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
I pushed myself up so I could press my lips against his, and he moved the lunch box out of the way. When our mouths collided, I knew I hadn’t made a mistake.
We’d see what would happen.
But it was definitely worth a try to find out.
Chapter 23
ILET RAFAEL HANDLEeverything and focused on spending some time with Luca. We went out on actual dates.
Walks in the park.
Movie nights.
Visited a few clubs, and even a museum.
I realized that I really, really liked spending time with him, and that my father was right. This was something completely different. I didn’t think I’d ever enjoy my time like this with someone else.
It was just Luca.
He seemed happy too.
After a few weeks, we moved into a new house, which was much bigger and nicer. Warmer too. But even though we had plenty of rooms, Luca and I didn’t want to separate.
Hell, he was with me almost all the time, and I was already dreading the time when we’d be apart again.
