I look down at Scottie, who is nuzzling between us, and I shoot her a wink.

“You ready to head back to the bus?” I question both of them.

With all the adrenaline running through us, I know there will be no sleeping anytime soon.

That was the best we’ve ever played, and I really don’t like to toot my own horn, but there’s no denying the magic we just made up on that stage. I don’t know what the magic was coming from, but I have a gut feeling it’s whatever is going on between Scottie and me…and maybe even Felyx, but I could be reading that whole situation wrong.

My mind keeps going back to the excitement should be coming from us finally being able to headline a music festival of his size, and we just fucking did it!

But I’ve also got my girl by my side now.

And for everyone to see.

FELYX

“We could stay up and play drinking games to get to know one another!” I offer up; not knowing how they’re feeling, but I’m way too fucking wired to go to sleep right now.

“Do you have some with you in here?” Briggs questions while nodding towards the tour bus, which is finally coming into sight.

“Nope, I was hoping you all had some stashed away somewhere…I haven’t played drinking games in years.”

Scottie offers, “Sadly, we don’t, but we can send one of the crew out tomorrow to grab some, though!”

?* I look around awkwardly, not knowing where to go or stay tonight. I probably should’ve asked Michelle, but I was too excited. My only plan was to get on the road and pull over at a vacant hotel when I needed to rest last night.

“Well, we’re gonna head in and get our bags.” I look at Scottie in confusion, and she clarifies, “This is a long weekend, so we’re staying here in Ohio for a couple of days. We don’t have to be anywhere until next weekend, so we’re staying in a hotel to getsome good sleep, and water pressure that doesn’t feel like you’re just getting pissed on.”

“Kinky,” Briggs jokes and snorts, which has us all busting out laughing. “But really, there are a lot of friends I want to watch perform.” I don’t know if other bands stop and listen to their friends perform, but it seems so wholesome and supportive of them to do that.

Then it dawns on me that Michelle probably slept on the other bus with the employees. “That tour bus is already a rockin’, I am sure as hell not sleeping in there tonight,” I joke, knowing Eric and his wife are in the other bus that follows behind the band. The manager and other crew members stay in that one.

I should’ve already been in there getting my shit together and setting up camp, but here I am, thumb up my ass at midnight, about to sleep in my damn car at this point. The wheels are turning in Scottie’s head when she asks me, “Did Michelle not give you her room reservations?”

“I didn’t hear anything about that…hang on, I’ll text her.”At this ungodly hour, but then again, she is used to this lifestyle, so I’m sure she’s up.

Hotel reservations???

Michelle

OMFG Felyx, I’m so sorry! I had my assistant cancel everything, not even thinking you would want them…

I turn my phone around and let Scottie and Briggs see Michelle’s response.

“You can stay with us. We have a suite booked, and I’m sure they’ll have some open rooms at the hotel if you don’t want to stay in our room.” I nod in agreement with Scottie.

I type out a quick response to stress Michelle as little as possible.

Me

That’s okay!!! You rest, I will be perfectly fine, I promise!

“We’ve been sold out of rooms for the past three months because of Twisted Tours… ” the receptionist at this disgustingly fancy hotel tells us the predicament with the rooms here. And to no fault of her own, they’re sold out…Then she adds, “Every hotel within a fifty-mile radius is also sold out.” I don’t think the receptionist has a clue who she’s talking to, which is probably a good thing.
